An event where all the stores mark their stuff down to ridiculous prices, and consumers literally kill each other to score that 75% off TV/[popular electronic item]. Really, it's the most barbaric thing I've seen.

and they do this before Christmas... we have boxing day and new year sales, same sort of thing.

People need to chill a little over stuff!

Something I have never particpated in and never would. Camping out in front of stores for weeks, get a life!

Actually, they do it precisely one day after claiming to be thankful for what they have X~)

Barbaric is putting it nicely.  People have been killed in shops during Black Friday and one 82 year old woman one year was trampled over a DVD player.

Black Friday has morphed into Black Thursday, and a lot of shoppers aren't happy. They're lashing out at major retailers online, threatening to boycott stores that are opening early on Thanksgiving.

Among their biggest targets: Kmart plans to kick Thanksgiving day off, opening stores at 6 a.m. and remaining open for 41 hours straight.

Toys "R" Us starts its doorbusters at 5 p.m. At Wal-Mart stores (many of which are open all day), the deals start at 6 p.m.

Best Buy opens at 6 p.m., and then Macy's, Kohl's, J.C. Penney, Target and Sears all open at 8 p.m.

An "I pledge to not shop on Thanksgiving" badge is circulating on Facebook and has been shared more than 959,000 times as of mid-day Wednesday.

lolll the funny thing about black Friday, they never had enough on stock.  For example; I used to work for Sony 50% off or 75% when we only had just 1 of that item on inventory... Not just Sony ... Best Buy play really nasty  game over and over again.... If you hear about a big sale at best buy .. Don't go !! they will only have 2 to 3 of that Item when 10,000 people will go for it. They play the Same game for "black" movie or music... they will only have 2 or 3 for that movie or music on inventory... lollll.

Well, I meant this as a serious topic because there are some mods in the market that I might want to add to my site.  However, it seems to have morphed into something else.

Here is something that most don't realise, they will see all these cheap widescreen LED televisions, or even LCD.  When you look at the specs, the freq. is 60 hertz.  Folks, the ac wall current in the USA is 60 hertz; the light in an incandescent bulb on a 60 hertz line is turning on and off at 60 hertz.  The reason why those televisions are so cheap is that they ARE CHEAP; watching a high speed car chase is going to be blurry on those sets; they are going to have lousy pictures.  They are what they use to get people flocking to the shops; when they sell out a lot of people think they have lost out when in reality they have won.  Wait until after Black Friday, spend a bit more, and get something you can actually enjoy watching.

Actually, there was already another thread about this- http://www.boonex.com/forums/#topic/black-friday-discount.htm

And Andrew had his Black Friday Product Sale Post up before either of these topics....Andrew does this every year as far as I know. Hope to see other vendors do this too....Though there are really only a couple few mods I'd buy at this time :) (Seem like mod creation has really slowed this year)....Looks like one other vendor is offering 50% off now...

The other topic got no comments and it would be nice to see who have sales on without having to click each vendor.  Which other vendor?

Remove the item from your cart.  Each vendor does it a bit differently.  For Modzz you send him payment for the discounted price and he manually adds it to your account; mention in the payment instructions which module you are buying.  I have brought modules from Modzz on discount and he does honour this.  AntonLV and AndrewP; you send them a list of the modules you want to buy and they will generate an invoice for you.  Others I have not purchased on discount.
