I created an announcement for members only. It came up but when I clicked the X it did NOT go away. I had to refresh the page. ALSO, I am getting this error message when going to the announcement notification: PAGE(INDEX) WAS NOT FOUND IN MODULE(AQB_ANNOUNCER) So the message header with the announcement I created is not being listed. I deleted the announcement because of the problem with closing it. I also thought this was going to come up as a popup? It comes up on TOP of the default design instead and seems frozen there. I am on HTTPS, is that a factor? Please help. Michael |
Looks like you've got an old version of the module. Try to download the latest version from unity. Best Regards AntonLV - http://www.boonex.com/market/posts/AntonLV |
Looks like you've got an old version of the module. Try to download the latest version from unity. Ok I did as you suggested and it did fix the announcement modal. I can close it and it appears as a modal. However the announcer icon box at the bottom when you click the Announcer link (javascript?) nothing happens. So if there is a LIST of announcements somewhere I don't know where. If you click the title of the announcement it does come up with the announcement modal, but the announcer box is still open too. If I close that box it closes the announcement modal too. It's a little confusing and the notifications box should disappear if the modal is being displayed, yes? Also I think it would be useful to be able to EDIT the existing announcement in case of errors or you see something that needs to be changed.

Ok I did as you suggested and it did fix the announcement modal. I can close it and it appears as a modal. However the announcer icon box at the bottom when you click the Announcer link (javascript?) nothing happens. So if there is a LIST of announcements somewhere I don't know where. There is no any separate page with all announcements that is why that link is disabled. Instead all announcements are listed directly in the popup menu of the member menu. If you click the title of the announcement it does come up with the announcement modal, but the announcer box is still open too. If I close that box it closes the announcement modal too. It's a little confusing and the notifications box should disappear if the modal is being displayed, yes? Makes sense. Fixed. Updated here on unity. You can replace the file modules/aqb/announcer/templates/base/announcements_bubble.html and then clean site's HTML cache to avoid full module reinstallation. Also I think it would be useful to be able to EDIT the existing announcement in case of errors or you see something that needs to be changed. This can be a problem in case of a live site. For example, if someone had seen an announcement and then admin have changed it then all those who already seen it unlikely to see the updated version. So we intentionally haven't made an edit button to avoid such scenario. Best Regards AntonLV - http://www.boonex.com/market/posts/AntonLV |
Would you please consider this enhancement for future versions? I would like to periodically have brief time frames (15 minute increments) to offer members freebies of points, merchandise, etc. for responding to the announcement before the set time expired. A timer is desired as opposed to saying "for the next 30 minutes" or whatever as the timer would make the expiration point very clear to all members regardless of where they are located around the world. The timer would eliminate any confusion, IMO.

Thanks for your consideration! I believe you can use the countdown module for this purpose. Best Regards AntonLV - http://www.boonex.com/market/posts/AntonLV |
I believe you can use the countdown module for this purpose.
I have a license for that mod as well, but I don't know how to call the countdown from the announcer mod to make it appear inside of the announce module. Is that something that requires custom work? 7.3.5 with responsive UNI |

I have a license for that mod as well, but I don't know how to call the countdown from the announcer mod to make it appear inside of the announce module. Is that something that requires custom work? My proposal was to use the Countdown module instead of Announcer. Since the Countdown module shows itself on ALL pages then I believe it makes no sense to announce something in addition to displaying this on all site pages with countdown module. But if for some reason you want to use countdown timer inside the announcer then this will require a custom modification. Best Regards AntonLV - http://www.boonex.com/market/posts/AntonLV |
