Amazon S3 service

Has anyone managed to mod their Dolphin site to use the Amazon S3 service?

It makes perfect sense to me that on a media-heavy site using an S3 account would free up your server for more 'live' bandwidth while using the speed, security, bandwidth and reliability of Amazon servers for the content uploads and downloads.

In my opinion, if this can be done technically, it should be part of the Dolphin armory.

You can try to mount Amazon S3 as drive and then store video/photos/etc files on this disk,  there are some number of such solutions available, for example:
