Thanks for setting up the module forum. I'll give the mod another test drive to see how the new changes look.

Hi! We are just upgrading to 7.3 and so are installing Affiliate Links for the first time. It all seemed to go well - until...

Firstly I noticed that on the settings screen there was no opportunity to set the maximum number of insertions - see the screen shot for details.

Next, when trying to add a module to the 'modules' screen we got a database error

Lastly, no surprise but there are no insertions of links into the content.

To install we uploaded the files and installed as per the readme file.

Any ideas what we got wrong?

@dustybin - Please download and re-install the module to fix the issue with the options settings. Regarding the insertion not showing, please indicate where you tried to post the insertion.

I forgot to subscribe to this forum. It's something I need to keep an eye on.

 Hiya, I have deleted the module and then re-downloaded the mod again and then reinstalled it. I recompiled languages (what does that do?) and then cleared the cache. The settings page remains unchanged.

Next I set up a single term for linking. The term was 'credit card' and should have linked, apart from anywhere else, here: http://andrew.denre.com/m/articles/view/How-To-Use-A-Debt-Relief-Agency-To-Cure-Your-Money-Problems The first instance of the term is in paragraph 2. The link should have been emboldened. Sadly there is no link showing.

If you re-installed the module, you will see a textbox instead of a checkbox for option that says "Maximum number of automatically inserted links per post ". I have just re-downloaded the mod and reinstall on a test site to confirm that this change is working.

Based on your example, you are posting in my Ultimate Articles module. By default this module is not integrated. Did you go to the "Add Module" Tab and integrate this module with Affiliate Links?

I HAVE reinstalled the module and there is no text box. Bear in mind this was a new, ab initio, install onto my mirror site. This has never been installed on my site before. In order to ensure that there was no mistake I re-downloaded the files from the Boonex store rather than using the files I had downloaded a day or so earlier.

We are using Ultimate Articles and that has been integrated, it shows up in the modules list along with the Tutorials module.

I am sure that this will work, but unsure as to why it doesn't work. :(

Does this mod allow you to force all links (affiliate or not) that a user ads to a blog post to open in a new window?

@hawk007 - This module does not do that. It is focused on Affiliate links only.

Just tested this.

The affiliate link appeared in the article and I clicked on it.

All worked fine; however, the click didn't register in the admin section.

It appears changing colour on the active phrase, or selecting 'Open link in new window frame' after the active phrase has been set doesn't work on words already posted.

The open link in new window didn't seem to work at all.

Also, affiliate links don't get added to old posts unless the post is edited.

@TravelNotes - Yes, the module cannot modify data that was posted before it was installed.
