You should post this on the forum for the module. Go to the module page and there should be a forum button for the module. Oh, just checked and there is no forum for the module. Well, go to the module page and you will see a contact vendor; it will send a message to Rayz with the module indicated. Paste in what you have from this topic in the message. This should turn into the "forum" for the module since there is not one and he is a "trusted" vendor.
I have this module and the install was somewhat confusing to say the least.
I also want to add Rayz contacted me today, I purchased yesterday, so the response was excellent.
I have installed previous versions of this module for many clients, but not this one, where there was a different way to register the module.
This version uses Embedly site to get an API that is inserted in the Dolphin Admin side.
That was the confusing part, why is this needed when applying for the API key, there is not "tie" to the module or site it is being used on, that is the vague part of the install directions.
I might add that with this, you only get a free account to embed videos, with limits. This modules gives you 5,000 embeds a month, anymore than that you have to PAY extra, this is not in the description at ALL.
One of the moderators need to review the module and it's description to what you get "out of the box" as the saying goes, we need FULL disclosure before we PURCHASE the modules!
Rayz has agreed to look into the install I did, and I am very thankful for that.
I just need input from others that have purchased this module..

Everything after this was a breeze to do.

I have the Advance Video Embed 2.0 and have no real idea of the differences between what I have and Advance Video Embed 3.0
I agree about the market, a person I am helping purchased a module on the market that was encrypted with ioncube; iconcube is not installed on the server and will not be installed on the server. I have requested the vendor provide an unencrypted module and they have yet to answer; not even to say no.

I totally agree, it will not be on mine either. Why didn't you disclose the module name, I personally want to know.

Why not, the vendor, as far as I can see, does not mention it anywhere. I talked to the vendor and he never mentioned it. according to the Boonex moderators I am suppose to know all the questions to ask; well, how about the vendors being require to mention something that important. It is not that great of a module in the first place and I tried to tell the people that I could add OpenCart in an iframe without buying that module but they insisted.
It is the OpenCart integration (which is not really an integration) module. Globalweb is the vendor.

I am assuming you are referring to this post:
http://www.boonex.com/forums/topic/Vendors-Licensing-Third-Party-Scripts-Must-be-List.htm
For the record, you mentioned the fact that you had to install a 3rd party software for this module to work. I asked what module this was so that I could verify this and you did not mention the module/vendor. There should NOT be any modules in the market that require you to install 3rd party software onto a server in order for the module to work. Especially if it is not stated in the description. People with shared hosting accounts normally do not have the ability to install/configure software on a shared server.
You also said that the 'technical requirements' were 'Not Specified'. What I said was, if this was a concern of yours (meaning the not specified entries) then you should contact the vendor with any questions before you purchase.
Never once was it stated that you are 'suppose to know all the questions to ask'. That would be impossible. Moderators do not have access to download/test any of the modules in the Market, so it would be impossible for us to know everything that should be asked as well. I don't mind people speaking their mind, venting, and/or voicing their opinions as long as anything they 'quote' is accurate.
Again, I will ask you.. What is the module's name and who is the vendor so we can take care of this.

I think I edited these files correctly as the pop up allows the selection of over 200 embed examples, the only one that works is the original links to YouTubes, they embed correct so I think the edit was correct.
Could someone edit these files for me and re-post? I have done the install twice, on a test bed first then on the live site, both work the same.[edit]
On Embedly, it shows where I have posted links and how many times I have so that part seems to be tied in and working, the API in Admin panel.
attached are the directions for the module and the files to change; it seems these would be included with the module or manually edited as directed, the edit would deter most new members and as me would have to ask to have my work double checked.
Thanks in advance.

@Newton27 - I have this mod installed and I too had a bit of an issue at first. I can say that I was able to embed video from a few of the sites (I haven't tested all of them).
Are you getting any errors or are they just not working? BTW, this does NOT seem to be working on the EVO Wall. I had to use the actual default video module page to get it to work.

Hey Z,
I tested the most used ones I would be using. All came back with the error like you would get without a module like this.
This won't be used on a EVO site.
So since I can embed normal youtubers, I must have did the edit correct right?

So since I can embed normal youtubers, I must have did the edit correct right?
Not necessarily since Dolphin is already coded to handle YouTube embeds by default. Jump online with GoogleTalk and I can help you there.

Just discovering this forum after purchasing the Advanced Video Embed 3.0. We are experiencing all the frustration and challenges discussed above. What was the eventual solution? And what was the process at embed.ly? Every step I see on embed.ly seems to require an additional monthly payment for that service. Is there a specific page or step to simply get the API key that's required for this AVE 3.0 module from Rayz? |
Yes embed.ly started charging and high prices. It use to be free. That is when I had all these modules from Rays now the modules are pretty worthless because third party charging.. Plus Rays is not around much any more.. Most of his modules are outdated. Not much use for flash.. Flash can not be used very easy with mobile and that is what everyone is going. |
