Adsense and Dolphin Sites ... ! BEWARE

OK I have heard many people saying that they have had issues with Adsense on their sites and, or even had their accounts suspended without understanding why .....

The thing for Google Adsense is that they have many conditions they expect webmasters to comply with!!

Im not joking either and once sites are found to be breaking these conditions the penalty can be suspended accounts and all your earnings returned back to the advertisers.

From what I know about 90% of Dolphin sites are dating / adult based sites containing adult contents and chat rooms ....

Some of the things I can tell you right now is that 'adsense' in chatrooms will get your account suspended if discovered by the 'Big G Team' ... Another thing that is major and will get your account suspended is have the 'site menu/navigation' being set in a way that it causes it to over-lap 'adsense' and in-turn cause un-wanted clicks.

some of Googles conditions include;

NO adsense on Pornography, adult or mature content sites

NOT Place misleading labels above Google ad units. For instance, ads may be NOT labelled  "Favourite Sites" or "Today's Top Offers".

NOT Displayed in pop-ups or pop-unders.
NOT Placed in emails, email programmes or chat programmes.
NOT Obscured by elements on a page.
NOTPlaced on any non-content-based page.

Sites showing Google ads should be easy for users to navigate. Sites may not change user preferences, redirect users to unwanted websites, initiate downloads, include malware or contain pop-ups or pop-unders that interfere with site navigation

NOTE; the Bold condition above !  This is meaning that adsense is not allowed in ANY CHAT ROOM whatsoever under any condition..... IF YOU HAVE ADSENSE IN YOUR CHAT, EVEN FOR YRS AND NOT BE IN TROUBLE ABOUT IT > BEWARE AS YOU WILL BE !!

Google will suspend accounts with adsense at chat rooms /dynamic content pages due to them not being able to monitor what is happening in chat rooms and also chat rooms do not contain contents that google understands ... Google insist what their adsense is only used on pages with contents.

I hope this helps some of you from having issues with Google Adsense ..... I have personally had issues with them and its not nice!

I was lucky to understand their reqiurements and make changes allowing my Adsense to continue with out further issues... ALOT OF PEOPLE ONCE CAUGHT WILL NEVER GET A SECOND CHANCE.... SO BE CAREFUL AND MAKE SURE YOU READ AND UNDERSTAND THEIR REQUIREMENTS !

This is also a important issue (also noted above) that will cause Adsense Account owners issues;

Adsense obscured by elements on a page = false clicks and are of no value to Google or Advertisers

looking through what I have added here so far I think this is also another important  factor that webmasters should keep in mind and kind of falls into the 'NOT Obscured by elements on a page' part :

As well as the above point being very important... Another thing that will get you hung and quartered by Google is having Adsense look as if its a part of your actual site !

By this I mean not making the adsense look like its apart of your navigation/menu, not too close to navigation/menu or set in a way that causes users to assume the 'Adsense' links are services your site offers etc .

I will continue to update this Thread as much as possible .... Watch This Space !!

ALSO IMPORTANT:

Having pages in 'iframes' with Google adsense visible is also NOT allowed !

This could include your pages being in iframes for Facebook apps and similar !

Yes you are correct Nathan, However alot of people don't and even myself did not before learning the hard way!

I am hoping to save alot of Boonex users from PAIN by letting them hear this from a fellow member :)

I know that Google can be great for those who understand it (even as far as their other services / factors), and a NIGHTMARE for those still learning and breaking Google's policies

I'M NOT JOKING WHEN I SAY ITS A 'RARE' THING IF GOOGLE EVER GIVE YOU A SECOND CHANCE ONCE YOU UPSET THEM  LIKE MANY PEOPLE HERE WILL ALREADY KNOW !

i contacted google about this over a year ago,, and was told that you cant have your ads popping up in a chatroom, or on a site that is ONLY a chatroom,, if you have a chat box on your site with OTHER content then you can run their ads,  far as the whole iframes ,, it is basicly the same, long as there is OTHER contact,, they say this for 2 reasons,  far as the chatrooms it is cause there is no content to draw people to your site as a selling point to advertisers, and far as iframes the do that cause they dont want you basically just plugging a feed from facebook and using facebooks activity to make your money, you have to offer something of your own.. then again it is google and they can pull your ads at anytime for any reason honestly that is what they are known to do, so always have a back up plan

Oh well..... nothing makes a site uglier, and sleazier than google ads plastered everywhere.  Why do people deface their own sites like this?

My opinions expressed on this site, in no way represent those of Boonex or Boonex employees.

Personally I agree that some sites without advertising look great, however it is also a essential part of generating revenue for many websites (Google and other Advertising methods) until they are lucky enough to get many paid members, sponsorship or similar ..

Some of Google's 'image' advertising I think can look awesome depending what is shown.

I know of a articles site and other sites that generate well over $30,000 USD every month using adsense!

I also know that a company 'shoebox' generated nearly quarter of a million USD in one month using adsense.

If you know what your doing and you are able to generate lots of quality traffic that Google Advertisers are also looking for,  then it would only be foolish to turn this potential away ...

I think that the next big step, probably entire 7.2 update should focus on monetizing the site without Google. Better memberships handling, store, ads, v-goods, etc. We'll talk about this later. Google Adsense just keeps going down the hill. One of our sites when started using AdSense was making an average of 5-8K/month, two years later with twice the traffic it wend down to about 200-300 a month. meanwhile AdWords prices quadrupled.

Nothing hurts the company as much as pressure from shareholders wanting bigger PROFITS every quarter.
