Ads (classifieds) stoped working

Hi,

We have strange situation on our site, no one can post new Ad (classifieds) or edit old ones already posted anymore. Last ad was posted about 20 days ago.... then we saw members complaining that they can not post ads and I tried to post one and after pressing button "Ad post" page just reload and ad doesn't get posted on site. Same is when I try to edit older post. After editing and pressing "Save changes" changes doesn't saves and page just reloads.

I've checked server error log and found nothing.

I've reinstalled module Ads but the problem persist.

Can someone please help me on how to troubleshoot this

Kind regards

Mayki

have you try clear cache on

/administration/cache.php

when i face error logs i always go for clear all, but i'm not sure

be carefull and backup before doing this.

are you under recommended hosting in boonex ? i'm not but i guess some like

PHP: post_max_size

MySQL: query_cache_size

you can see that under /administration/host_tools.php

i dont know if i'm talking right here or no, dont forget to backup your site before doing anything.

tell me if clear cache will work, i hope i dont face this strange situation like you :)

Hello ad96211!

Thank you very much for your answer.

I did clear cache, even turned off cache, restarted server but nothing help.

Under /administration/host_tools.php everything is OK. And I havent changed nothing regarding php, or mysql settings lately..... only thing I do regularly is updating server (Ubuntu server)

I did a fresh install of Boonex Dolphin on sub-domain just to verify that php and other server related stuff is working correctly, and it confirmed my thoughts - on fresh install adding new ads or editing ads works just fine.

So I dont know what to do and where to look to solve the problem with ads on our live Dolphin site...

Kind regards

Mayki

did you do any site modifications 20 days ago? Sometimes something small can cause big headaches.

As an example - i had an issue where my site would not even display at all - because of a simple space at the beginning of a page that I had added by mistake. took me 2 weeks to figure it out.

One thing to try is the Inspect element feature in Firefox and Chrome. Click the Console tab, refresh the page, and then attempt to add or edit an ad - see if any errors are shown.

Hello ProfessorSr,

thank you for your suggestions and thoughts about the problem.

If I am honest I can not be 100% sure if I did any changes approx. 20 days ago. But I would say no, I haven't done any changes as I can remember...

I've tried the "Inspect element feature in Firefox and Chrome" but no errors. As I wrote, when on ad site, no matter doing adding new ad or editing old one after pressing "Ad post" or "Save changes" new Ad doesn't get published or changes doesn't save at all. Page just reloads and nothing happens. It looks like it doesn't post to mysql database or something...., I really don't know how to find the problem....

Greetings

Hi to all!

This whole post seems to be " not needed at all"

I tried to rearrange some of the page blocks particularly ones called Ads and then I tried to  post an edit an older Ad and it starts to work....

Mystery....

Thanks again for all your suggestions guys, it is hard when you get stuck on something  and not having any support.

Thank you for your support. Smile

Greetings
