I have my site set up so that two fields generate matches - the industries and countries (a special multiple select field). My admin account has neither of these fields, but I am starting to get cupid emails announcing a member matches with the admin account - and I assume the account it is matched with gets them too. Something is wrong - fields that are empty shouldn't be matching with anything.

p.s. We really do need a "bugs" forum here. Boonex only seems to consider things that are near the top of this forums, and they drop off the end rather quickly now.
UPDATE: Could someone tell me how to just turn off the cupid emails - I am starting to annoy people as it sends them even when I deactivate an account. I want to keep the "matching" function, but turn off the emails.

Thanks Michael,
But could someone tell me how to turn it off entirely - while still keeping the "match" function for member searches. The method we used to turn it off in D6 no longer works I think as the chron has been integrated. What is the best way to do this?
Thanks

Admin > Settings > Advanced Setting > Matches
Option to disable in that section :-)

Newbreed - as I tried to explain, that shuts down the matching entirely. I just want to shut down the email alerts. Does anyone know - important - I am getting complaints.

Gotcha, sorry I read your post too quick...
ok what I did, was just pulled the cron job. That solved my issue with this problem immediately.

Could you tell me how you did this? I know they were separated out in D6 but I don't know how that is done in D7.

Hey Rob, you can try setting the percentage to send a cupid email in the Advanced Settings> Matches area. Change the percentage to an outlandish number like 250...That might do it, I know it will take 250.
So I guess someone would have to match at 250% before a cupid email gets sent :)

Mine won't - it goes back to 99 no matter what I enter. Any other ideas? |
It may let me because I have nothing enabled for matchmaking.. Hmm.. Check your database table called sys_cron_jobs. Click the browse option and see if there is a entry for BxDolCronCupid or something like that. Could possibly delete it or something.
I will need to check into this further.
