Admin Tools

Everything works perfectly except forum that will not install.

In Admin - admin tools - Software requirements

What does it mean?

There are many topics already in the forums on this subject, but basically what it all boils down to is the server your trying to host the site on does not meet all of the requirements to run dolphin.

The requirements are listed here. http://www.boonex.com/trac/dolphin/wiki/DolTech

Specifically the issue you having is with the requirement listed on that page on this line.

  • mbstring, mysql, mysqli, curl, gd, xslt extensions must be installed.

The specific extension is XSLT which is not installed and is required for the forums to work.

The solution is to contact your host and inform them of the system requirements and make sure they install the XSLT extension required by dolphin.

Thanks for your response! I have emailed their support several days ago and waiting for answers. I just investigate myself what just xsl does. I'd rather not change the host because I had them for 10 years. But it is important that the forum works.

XSL is a required extension for the forums because the forums are not written entirely in PHP. Most of it is written in xsl.  XSLT must be installed for the webserver to process those file types. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XSL and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XSLT

Your not going to be able to install it yourself.

Below is the legacy version of the Boonex site, maintained for Dolphin.Pro 7.x support.
The new Dolphin solution is powered by UNA Community Management System.
