Admin Manualy Add Membership

Just curious. Why isn't there a way for the admin to manually add a membership for someone?

There is.  Unless you removed the block, it should be part of your default admin edits for member profiles.

Ok, the whole block thing really escapes me.

If I can trouble you to explain in more detail it would be very helpful because I just can't find it.

I think both of you are not reading SkyForums question correctly.

Yes, you can edit a member. Select a member and you get the screen as in prolaznik screen shot.

However, i believe he was asking how to add a new member. Not edit and existing one.

Adding a new user from the admin is not there.

As for why? Well most likely because you can just click join, and fill out the form just as the member would.

if he was talking about how to add a member i think he would have asked how to manually add a member  and not membership for someone?. but again i could be wrong

let's just wait and see what he has to say :)

I could be wrong also. It's the wording.

manually add a membership for someone.

I read it as "Manually Adding a Member"

You read it as "Manually changing a users Membership Level."

Could mean either i suppose.

Guess we just have to wait.

LOL! You guys crack me up...

What I was looking for was away where I could manually add a NEW member including all their permisions and so forth all in one screen from the admin area.

I understand I can just logout, create a new membership, log out of that membership, then log back in as admin and adjust and.or edit it but thats a lot of gal darned work plus it makes me feel like less of an admin!

I do not see where you can actually ADD a new member from scratch in the Admin Panel. Sorry.

can i still fold ?.. LOL

any mod or update coming out with a manual add member function.

The add by invitation for private sites does not work very well for adding a large group of members

yes, this is very frustrating! i used to use socialengine before dolphin and i begged them to add that option in version 4, but nope, they didn't. this should be a default option in these scripts! there is no reason to have to fill out an entire join form, verify email etc., especially for testing purposes! very frustrating!!!!! GRRRR.... um.. ok, i'm calm now.

i'm tired

I also would like to be able to ADD a new member from scratch in the Admin Panel, I have a closed membership board and want to ADD a new member from scratch in the Admin Panel like the good old days as it only takes 30 to 45 sec as aposed to 5 mins to log off and fill out and submit every one, what a wased of a good system, I dont want to go back to E107 just for this one ishue..

I use PHPadmin to add new members and you dont need to fill in all the details.

Dredging up old post here, but if I find a question unanswered I'll answer it since it may help someone else.

The below module allows adding a member from the backend of 7.0x. It does NOT work for 7.1 however.

Hi! Thanks for this module that I have been looking for! but I have this problem when I try to use it:

Fatal error: Multiple access type modifiers are not allowed in /home/mindesa/public_html/comunidad/modules/visualdrugs/add_member/classes/VDAddMemberModule.php on line 23

I really appreciate if there is any advise about this! I'm using v 7.0x

"Copy the "module" folder inside the root folder of your dolphin installation using your favorite FTP tool. The folder "module" should already exist. Replace it´s contents."

Depends on what you did following those very cryptic instructions.

A free module on a site other than Boonex written by someone named "visual drugs".. sounds safe to me where do I sign up, lol.

I just installed it on my test site (shared hosting with no members, who cares if it deletes my database or tries to compromise the server). It works fine for me (7.0.9).

I'm thinking the difference my be the php version though. Open that file mentioned in the error and remove one of the "public"s from line 23. That should do the trick.
