Admin "Controls" block.... what the?

I'm sorry, can someone enlighten me as to what the "Admin Controls" block is supposed to provide for control? It doesn't seem to give you any type of control... just some additional fields of information.

Has anyone actually modified that to put something useful in there? Like a profile edit link? Avatar Admin? Profile Feature/Unfeature button? Deactivate/Ban button? I'm geting real tired of finding profiles that require banning/moderation/editing to then just have to go into the admin members and search for them.

Of course only the admin/owner of account "sees" that block in a profile.

[edit] Yes, you can put more info in there, that is under Admin>Builders>Profile Fields> "Admin" button, then "view profile" at the top right of box.

Drag what you want there from the inactive area.

No avatar control. For that you should install Deanos tools, that will allow you to temp login as the member and either change the unwanted avatar or finalize the saving process which most people do not seem to do.

yeah but... I don't care about the info, I'm on the profile... I can see it already! :)

The avatar thing that I was talking about is when an admin edits a profile... it shows the list of avatar's which you can delete some...

Anyway... perhaps some savy mod will see this and make a real admin block that has some real "control"

yeah... poorly labelled.

dev's out there... here another good op for you.

I've seen a few new ones published now not too long after I've mentioned them :) Hopefully this one gets conceived as well.

That information block can be useful; Dolphin allows content to be hidden from admins.  While HL disagrees with me, admins should not be blocked from any content on the site; otherwise, such things as kiddie porn can be hidden on the site.  As Newton said, install the free Deano's Tools, it will make your job much easier.

yeah I understand that. What useful information do you hide aside from email addresses and first/last names?

I have deanos tools, it's useful for certain things, but what I'm trying to do it save myself and any other admin of busy sites, the monotonous  tasks discovering the user then going to the admin page, members, page, searching for the user..., editing them... over and over again.
