Adding articles and news by non admins

I need editors to be able to add articles or news. Is it possible without giving them access to the whole admin area? Am I doing something wrong or there is no such functionality? (D7 B3 here)

I would like this as an option too for the News section at least. Public news would be great. Almost like a "Press Release" feature.

As far as the articles go, You can use the Blog for this. The blog already allows users to submit blog articles.

Users can use blogs for both of these. Articles and News was added especially for admin.
