Adding actions button "Set as profile photo".

Hi guys,

I noticed that when you view a photo there's a button in the Actions block called "Set as Avatar". I was wondering if we can add a button "Set as profile photo". This way when a member views a photo he likes he can click on the button and set it as his profile image.

What do you think?

Whenever you view your photos it will be nice to have a button there that with one click you can set it up as your profile photo. There's already a button for "set up as avatar" so why not have set up as profile image.

Gotta have an answer for this one because most of my members having difficulty with setting up their profilr image.

This may sound stupid but i thought avatar was the profile image ?

never mind...  i just also noticed you cant put the profile photo in the edit profile section of the field builder either... 

 Try it and you'll see that only your avatar is being replaced.

 NO... it isn't.  Thanks to Boonex, and all the fkn litle weenies that just had to have those cute little avatars, most other people think the same thing too.  Oh how I wish the stupid avatar module would just go away.  Unfortunately, it has metastasized into every dolphin module.  

I also see another problem the admin cant set a profile photo because its only there on the join form.

also on the profile page in actions you have set as avatar even though i don't have the avatar module installed.

I hope they have removed all other modules dependency on avatars in 7.1.  I haven't checked.

so what about that button in "actions" block? I looked on other websites and a lot of them have the same issue...members don't have profile images! I think its time to fix this thing once and for all and the idea of having a button in actions block is a good one.

I am guessing release of the first beta maybe in 1 to 2 weeks.

As it turned out, the profile photo switcher is just a block for allowing someone to view the profile photos of a member; it does not set the profile photo; on page refresh or revisit, the profile photo is reset.  I think having a better way for members to set their profile photo easily than having to go to their photo albums and drag the one they wish to use for the profile photo to the number one slot would be something my members would like.  A member can easily click and choose what their avatar should be minute by minute; however, to choose a profile photo they have to go to albums, manage albums, drag the photo, etc.

Of course it was yuval idea; I came across this old topic while searching for something else and thought it would be a good idea to revive it.  Even a market mod would be nice if a developer wanted to write one.
