Sorry if this a stupid question. I have been looking for documentation on this feature. I can add a moderator under USERS>MODERATORS in the dolphin admin and activate the moderator. I can't seem to login as a moderator.
I need to be able to add a moderator and assign certain functions/permissions to that moderator. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks for your time.

I have the same request. Can anyone please point us in the right direction? |
After setting a moderator in your admin panel the moderator can login at:
yoursite.com/moderators
or
yoursite.com/moderators/index.php
However they really can't do much without some custom modifications. They can do a few things, but it is very limited. Hopefully this will be one of the things they improve in the future.

Thanks Gameutopia for pointing me to the login screen. There is only the logout out link available. You mentioned custom modifications... is that something that can be done through the Admin panel to assign task like approve uploads, add news, etc? Or will a mod need to be programed?
Is there another work around... a second admin account with limited access? I have some people that are willing to help with the site, but do not need full admin access.
Thanks for your time.

Can anyone help us all out with this dilema please guys, this is fairly important ... |
yes we really need to know this i cant believe that there isnt any documentation on this! how can we set administrative privelages? |
I also have the same question:
I want to give limited access to a moderator. However, how do i
set up limits for what this "Moderator" is able to access.
Thank you for telling us how to go about Logging In as a Moderator. I just cant get over the fact that Dolphin, Ray, & Orca don't have a "Help" menu to answer this trivial but important questions.
I did look in: Admin/Advanced Settings/Membership Levels
However, I only found setting for end users. Didn't find any settings for what a "Moderator" can or can't access. Please this is very important. can anyone help.
When i logged it as one of the Moderators I set up the only thing the was available is to View and Approve New member email addresses. Absolutely not useful at all.

Bump: Are there still no plans to fix this issue??! |
Moderator status is just one of those things it seems that have been overlooked. It's not that there isnt any documention for it, its that the moderation status is just one thing, which you log in via your site name/moderators/ but it doesnt really do much at all.
There needs to be proper and separate mod control panel like there is on most good forums which keeps the admin duties and the mod duties in two different area's. Hopefully dolphin 7 upwards will approach this issue in the future.

Wow... I cannot believe this question has not been addressed. I am having the same issue and the only way to work around this is assign admin login and password to those willing to help, which is not acceptable.
Can some one please help!!

Its not really something that there is help for. moderation is what it is on dolphin, which has just been overlooked completely, i mean do you see any moderators on this forum, erm no!. not of course that we dolphin users need moderating 'cos we all behave ourselves!, "cough" yeah rite" lol This is something that needs looking into really, we need the same sort of system that you get say on a VB, or any other forum software, where you can have moderators that can help running things properly but cant get access to the admin.
