Add new gender to looking for

Hi,

Can someone please tell me how I can add a new gender to "Looking For" field in the Join Page?

2 genders is not enough??   I wasn't aware of a third one.

My opinions expressed on this site, in no way represent those of Boonex or Boonex employees.

Hi Houston,

Although I'm not gay, I do no a few transgender who don't like to refer to themselves as either male or female.  So, how can I add a new gender?

but if there transgender ...

meaning they were a man or a female and then changed vice versa,

all they need to do is choose there current status, why go out of your way to make additonal sex's to the same things that already are there in the present code ?

Then you would have double to everything ?

theres 3 genders already made with in the dolphin software

male

female

couple

what do they want or what are you referring to cause im lost on what this all about,

sorry just thought that if your man your man if your a female then your female and if your dressed as female and a man then you would called a couple meaning theres 2 of you in 1?

Hope this helped!

By the way if that dont work they can always write in there BIO that there Transgender ?

Hi Technoman,

Marcohuettel has already helped me to resolve this issue.

Just to clear things up with Technoman because I couldnt resist. I started my site (for asians) recently. I have about 450 members. Its just a regular dating site for asians, but I added the extra gender "ladyboy" to it, since in Thailand (where they are known as ladyboys) and Philippines (where they are known as shemales), they are very common. Before I built my site, I specifically asked a shemale in the philippines what they prefer to be called, because I anticipated more filipinos than anything, so I learned alot from this person about it, plus Ive been to Thailand so I know what they are called. They are common enough to where they are considered the third gender there. I dont advertise my site as being for them, or anything like that. Its just a regular dating site for everybody. But once you are signing up, that option of "ladyboy" is there. Since I started my site, I've gotten 25 members that classify themselves as ladyboy. 25 out of 450. So its pretty obvious to me that they like to be seperated, and that they are very common over there. Most likely because they dont want any confusion. Imagine a guy talking to a girl, whos not a girl (its sometimes hard to tell with the ones in asia), then finds out she isnt a real girl. There is so many of them, that it should be an option whenever someone considers making an asian site, because theres lots of guys out there that only want ladyboys. They dont like guys, but they dont like women either. Theres alot of people like that. I've had 11 guys so far sign up and put "Likes: Ladyboy" as their preference. So when they search for people, it should be very clear that they have the option to only search for ladyboys. Couple, and Transgender, are not the same thing. If I want to talk to 2 people (Lets say Im a swinger), then Im going to search for couple. I dont want to be bothered with pictures of 1 person (transgenders) in the "couples" section of search, if Im looking for 2 people.

Plus, for all we know, goldman could be running a site strictly for one type of group. And wants to add more than 3 genders. For instance, it may be a website just for gay people. Theres all different kinds of gay people. You have the kind that act straight, the kind that act feminine, the crossdressers (men just dressing like ladies but without any surgery at all), the pre-op shemales (the ones who havent had an operation below, but had breast implants and things like that), the post-op shemales (had parts below removed), etc. etc.

So for all we know, he could want to be making a gender option for each one of these. I live in a house with 3 people. One of which is a gay guy (straight acting gay guy). He says he doesnt like feminine gay guys or crossdressers, just gay guys that are like him. So each gay person has their preferences and identities, so when making a site like that, you want to make it as descriptive as possible I think.
Hope that gives you a little insight lol.

Hi Guys,

It's ok.  The problem is solved.  What problem is not solved is how to add Country, State and City to front page quick search. Any tutorials would be greatly appreciated.
