Account v's Profile

Some of our members are confused between Profile and Account pages. In fact I am starting to question it too. Can anyone give me an idea as to what each does please?

I thought it was obvious.  At lease on my site. Maybe you removed a lot of blocks for one or the other making the two look to much like each other. But......

Account is access to things that are not on the profile. Things NOT for public view.

Access to mail, quick links to other areas of the site. Full list of your account info regardless of privacy settings. changing avatar,  unregistering, access to your shopping cart, changing your subscription, ect.

The profile is the area shown to the public and only shows the public is to see based on privacy settings.

I will check it out and see, you are probably right.

I really need to start proof reading my posts. That last post of mine is about the most poorly worded post i have made in a long time. Even i had trouble understanding it, and i wrote it.
