Access Denied when uploading sounds

Many of my members are getting an access denied message when uploading an mp3 file to their profile. I setup a dummy account to test and was able to duplicate the issue. Using the flash uploader, I would upload an MP3 file and would then get the error message "Access Denied" in the place where it should allow you to name the file and categorize it.

The mp3 I'm trying to upload is 8.46 MB

Did anyone ever find a solution to this 'access denied' problem?  I'm currently having the same problem just as described by raeshantael

Check the permission of the "files" directory in the sounds module folder. Depending on how you have php setup it might need to be set to "777".

In my particular case, I can upload files up to 7 MB.  Any file above that I get a "access denied" (on some browsers) and a blank screen on Safari Browser.

I've had others test and they get the same.

I already contacted host.  They tested and show upload limit as 12 MB.  They tested the upload and get the same "access denied" message.

Once again, sound files upload fine if under 7 MB

Any ideas?

Ah, ok. It isn't permissions then. It could be "max execution time", "max input time" or "post max size". Go to "host tools" in admin and see what those settings are.

Here are the settings:

Max execution time 30

Max input time 60

post max size 8 MB

So I see that's probably the issue.  How do I change those?

OK, I went into the server and changed the settings to 120, 180 and 15 MB and the files upload fine now.

Thank You VERY much for your help as I was pulling my hair out all day.

Cool
