A profile from china???

I, like many of you have Banned the entire country of China via IP.... but I now have a profile from someone in China on my site (it hasnt bombarded me with spam yet)..... Just wondered how this may have happened.... I will check the IP later just to see........

maybe he is using some sort of proxy or some thing ...
im guessing you have done the country restriction from dolphin .. if you want some more security i guess it can be done from the cpanel of your site .. any ways let us know what happens with you ...

was based on profile country... turns out is a new york IP... but country has now changed to Australia. City is still chineese jibberish lol... will keep an eye on it and see if it gets confirmed.

to better control you could use ip + mac address

I'm sure you're now aware that information can be faked.  You could try that question-on-the-join-form-that-I-can-never-answer-right method, or block to occasional spammer IP.

I got one theory.

Maybe he is a good chinese and getting "Your country is not allowed" message on many sites on the internet so he is fed up of this and started using a proxy for his internet surfing.
