A lot of Bugs - we are very unhappy

My only advise to you is this one:  update to the leatest version.  Install this from scratch. 
If you want to get insight how Dolphin is working, do it yourself.

I would recommend a full re-install.

 if you are getting database connection errors, most likely you have not tuned your mysql. tuning mysql is not a one-off instance, this is something that is considered TLC for the database. there are a few reasons for the database to drop off, none of which i am able to troubleshoot without being on the server.

so overall, your issues are minimal and about 95% of these could be cured with applying the update patches to get you to the latest version.

1. The poll tool does not work.

we can´t create a poll!

 well i would have tested it on my site, but started my upgrade this AM. i will look for a 7.0.2 site and test the polls. though they had some issues with tracking and voting, the polls have always worked as far back as i recall.

Sites Module only work if the website you are requesting have the thumbnail ready, try add a website that is not fetched / cached by shrinktheweb, dolphin don't try to re-request the image.

I hate telling my users to refresh the second page until a image appear, can't say it's working in that stage hope you can agree on that DosDawg

You know what I wish someone would develop for Sites.  A button on the sites entry for that would manually create the thumbnail on the fly, and if it didn't work you could do it later.   This could create a thumbnail at shrinktheweb, thumbshots.org - one I like, or it could possibly be made through custom code.

DolphinJay helped disable mine slightly so it goes directly to the second form (could not get shriniktheweb through my hosts firewall for some reason) and it actually works pretty well.  You can upload an image and some users have actually done that.   Then I use an off line thumbnail generator to generate a photo sized image which I upload: http://sourceforge.net/projects/thumb-page/ 

It is certainly far more work than I want but at least I got started with it.  

 I'm working on my own 'fix' for this, it's simple a external script that checks all sites that don't have a thumb and recheck with stw if there is any, and if, it will download and update the missing info about the sites. Since it will only check missing site thumbs and every say 10 minutes, it will not be a hard load on the server or stw services at all.

Personally, I use thumbshots.com and have no problems, just using an html block.; but your users cannot add sites, not really good if you want your users to be able to add sites and that is the purpose of the sites module.

nothing has worked correctly since the day i purchased this program, it has crashed multiple times ,i paid a sugested develper multiple times for different little fixes that  never gets fixed an re broken, switched servers ,got suspended servers ,,   this is horrible ,

Dude did you look at the post date. they are not around to help anymore.

I used to get loads of problems and do you know what i did. I got a decent server, site been tested over a month then all content deleted and site went live last week. Had 1000 people on in the first hour with no problem as we were checking loads etc. We have a 8gb dedicated server, with percona DB installed, APC and memcache on the front and site works a charm. When i first started years ago with Boonex i had all sorts of problems on a shared server :)

@gmrm.... Whrer you hosting dude. I want to move my dedicated from HFW but am not sure where to go..... Kind of a fryingpan - fire thing going on eh.....

We use UKFAST in Manchester and it's £110 a month for a propper setup :)
