A few problems!!

Hi

Been working with dolphin 7 for a while now, creating our new website. We have over come some of the problems ourselves but are left with a few issues.

1. Email does not send body, save body in outbox or sent. only the subject gets saved and sent.

2. Video Processing, record is working fine, we accept video in admin but does not get send to recipient, instead they get message "video is being processed", although you can click on the sender and the message will be in their video albums.

3. Google Map. In a member profile it brings up the city where they live but does not show where other members live. Also the loading circle stays constantly on as soon as you start using the map.

4. Shoutcast, any text entered is not displayed. we cannot be access module either.

5. Capthcha, this was working fine but has recently started to cause a problem with people joining, seems to be an error even when copied correctly.

We have disabled problems 4 and 5 for the mean time.

Many thanks for any help that you can offer

Nick Taylor

While I have not experienced any of your issues, it does sound like permission issues. Safe to assume Your Host Tools light up all Green ?

Yes all of our host tools do light up green, we did have a issue with our host, which was with the RMS so we now have 2 host.

First, let me stipulate that I'm a Dolphin N00b, but try to contribute what I can :) All some or none of my suggestions may be wrong or obvious.

First, you need to make sure you have your CRON job running correctly. Videos do not get processed until the cron job starts up, sees the files needing to be handled and completes the task.

Your cron maintenance needs to be set to run every 1-5minutes. If there is nothing to do it just stops and waits for the next time interval.

When you get your cron setup properly in CPanel, you may then begin receiving emails. Mine where erros about PHP settings.  if you get that one I can point you to the thread that fixed it for me... I had to add the path to my php.ini file in the cron job.

If cron is working correclty you SHOULD NOT receive emails when it runs. You will only be notified if 1) there is a problem 2) the process it completed generated output (like video processing)

Once your periodic cron job is up and running, you will receive an email when a video is completed being processed. Initially I expected it to be done within a few seconds, but it actually took closer to 5minutes.

Until you get the email with the FFMPEG output, it's not done, be patient. I had my first 4 sitting in various states of incompleteness because I was rushing it, deleteing the video before it was complete etc.

NOTE: RMS is only needed for Live Video. It is not used to process video uploads or sound uploads. Only live cam streams and other camera input like video comments etc.

NOTE: Every module you install requires you to compile the language(s) for that module. That may be the shoutbox issue ? *shrug*

Let me know if any of that points you in the right direction.
