I hope they are not waiting till Christmas.  Yeah, some news would be great.

The green banner in the homepage and the many "almost there" posts is called marketing.

The entire Dolphin Osho CSS is very buggy in bigger screen resolutions. I already posted a list of bugs, hope they actually read it. I think they will release the beta next month and it will come with a few bugs if they dont fix the RC bugs I mentioned in the bug report forum.

Of course it will. Thats what a beta is for. Contrary to what you may believe, the beta is when debugging officially begins. Whats in the SVN right now is not a RC as you put it. If it was a RC then they would have released a zipped downloadable version labeled as a release candidate which they have not done so.

The SVN is development, and development versions always contain bugs. Many of which are there because the developement is not complete yet. Fixing things, and breaking them again as changes are made is part of the development process.

I am sure they have seen your post. Kinda hard not to when you have been mentioning it practically every time you post something. Have a little patience and start your full-blown debugging when the beta is officially released. SVN is mostly for developers. Not for debuggers.

As deano mentioned, SVN builds are rather raw, and often it is because they're only dev. builds not production distros. Some issues are intentionally left to be addressed on the very finals stage.

Anyway, we're very close to packing the first operational build, which is likely to have a limited testing round. A little patience, please.

Thanks Andrew. Hopefully 'very close'  would mean 'within next two weeks' lol.

This is like waiting in line for a new iphone. Can't wait to get my box kind of feeling.

Alright time to practice patience and meditation lol.

Plenty of patience here, enjoy the through testing of the software.

Why would anyone wait in line for an IPhone? Just go get a Galaxy SIII and be done with it!

Hi Andrew, what do you mean by a 'limited testing round'?

Do you mean only a group of people will be testing it or it will be testing for a limited time?

If a group, please include me! Have a few projects on hold waiting for 7.1 so would be good for testing the build.

Thanks

Yep, thats what I was asking though, will it be available to a select group of members first or to all users.

It's kind of impossible for there to be a closed beta when there's an SVN repo anyone can access.

SVN is always there, so by "limited", I mean sending a package to some members, just a few really, to give it a quick pre-beta look. The first beta is going to be a "supported version", available for download from the main site pages, not only SVN, and we will also provide upgrade packs after the first beta and 7.0.9 to 7.1b. Hence, we need that "quick look" thing to make sure the first beta is usable. We're doing a lot of last minute cleaning and fixing now.

I'm sure that many members stopped creating on their websites because they are waiting for 7.1 just like I am. We want to add things, make changes, switch templates etc. but we don't or wont because 7.1 is coming. And so far its been a long wait since it was first announced.

The Market and Forum have less traffic.

I understand that it takes time to develop and I rather have a complete product released as much as possible as opposed to one that has many bugs in it.

Sometimes communicating your problem and putting it out there is enough to solve it

It's cool that you  guys are doing last min cleaning. I too have couple of projects on hold and waiting for 7.1

I visit the forum many times a day lol

Anyways, Andrew, can you add me to quick look party. I have the latest SVN installed on http://socialtechnet.com

You guys sound like a week away lol
