7.0.9 Install issue

Whilst I wait and see if version 8 is all that it cracks up to be, I've tried to install 7.0.9 as a test site for new modules/file edits.

Cause it's best to have a test site running side-by-side with your own site right?

Well I've ran into a problem.

I searched the forums, and saw that the lang file could be a problem, it was, installed that separately.

Now the site is plain white, blank.

If someone could either fix it or perhaps just copy their own blank default testing site so I could have a testing site, I'll be happy to pay for your time.

There must be a php error somewhere; that is usually what a blank white page means.  If php error reporting is turned off in php.ini, turn it on to show the error.

I would be happy to set up a test 7.0.9 site for you with ftp access.  PM me to discuss details such as costs, etc.

Thank you for the offer GG, I've received an offer of help a few moments ago.

You must have upgraded your php; I did recently and 7.0.9 will no longer work on my servers.

ps, the plain white page is actually a page 500 error, you can see that if you use a different browser than chrome

It's weird, I've just discovered my current site is running on the latest version of php but it's 7.0.9.

Done. Patched 7.0.9 to get it to run on the newer version of php.

I'm curious... was it a simple fix?

(Assuming this is the PHP version issues.) The issue stems from a change in newer version of PHP. It's fixed by replacing some quick bits of code. See here: http://www.boonex.com/trac/dolphin/changeset/16971 and here: http://www.boonex.com/trac/dolphin/changeset/16967
