6.1.2 upload problems

I have upoaded most of the upgrade files but, there are still about 40 files that I'm having trouble uploading. I'm using FileZilla and I'm getting the following errors:

Can't open that file: permission denied

rename move failure: no such file or directory

I try to back up and chmod the particular folders and it won't let me. This is my first time doing an upgrade.

Check whether you have permission. Sometime the files may be installed by root.

I think I'm going  to let DolphinGeeks handle it until I can gain some more experience.
