2 Questions from a future user...

Hi,

I'm seriously thinking in buying one license for Dolphin in order to create my own social network. However I have two main questions regarding my decision:

My social network will be mostly focused in spotting activity, I mean a place where people will post many photos. However I need to establish some order in the uploading procedure so I would like to know If Dolphin allows to create specific public photo albums by the admin where people must upload specific themed photos and also if users can create other type of albuns to upload other random (non-themed) photos.

Also can someone explain to me how the Dolphin themes, skins, templates works? I look for that info but didnt found it. There are any templates available? There are any companies selling professional good looking themes for Dolphin? Is the original one customizable?

Thanks in advance for eventual answers...

I took a view into it but my problem is that I'm not so expert in Boonex so I don't know yet what the original Boonex Photo system allows or not comparing to available mods, so I decided to ask you my doubts.

I'm building my community using Boonex and setting it up to fit my own needs.
My community is about Truck Spotting Photos so lots of pictures will be uploaded into the system. The problem is that I need to establish some order in the upload procedure because if I don't do that the whole thing will turn into complete chaos!

I will need to have main standard albums for each truck brand and inside those ones more albuns for each of the truck models, for example:

VOLVO (Main Album)
FH16 (Sub album inside main one)
FH12 (Sub album inside main one)
FM12 (Sub album inside main one)

I need this albuns created and managed only by the admins but with the possibily that everyone can upload photos into them. Otherwise I need also that everyone could create their own private or public albuns just like facebook.

Is this possible?

Thanks in advance for your attention and reply.

not with the standard photo module as you dont create open albums that other users can upload into. Each user either uploads into their own personal folder by default, or they create their own album. However, you cant upload to someone elses...

There are workaround ways though.

You could use 'groups' module for this.

Instead of having your main photo module being used, use Groups.

Change each group for each 'folder' you want to create, or for each main photo category.

There is a module for groups that allows to create photo albums within that group, or you have the groups main photo album.

Arrange your groups page and groups view pages accordingly, remove access to photo module, rename groups as photo and away you go.

Always a workaround if not a direct way with Dolphin!

Below is the legacy version of the Boonex site, maintained for Dolphin.Pro 7.x support.
The new Dolphin solution is powered by UNA Community Management System.
