2 Dolphin Installation one Modules-folder?

Hello,

I am using two dolphin sites. One global and one local site. Everyone with their own license.

The two installation are working on one database. Only the header, footer are different. On the local site the members are only from one special country.

Now my question:

Is it possible to change the dolphin header.inc file in the local site so that the images from the modules (avatar, photos, ...) are load from the global site?

define('BX_DIRECTORY_PATH_MODULES', $dir['root'] . 'modules/' );

Temporally I am copy every day the images - thats boring...

Thanks for any solution

I use Dreamweaver. It has the functionality to make the copying a bit easier. In my case, I have 2 domains - one is for testing (mtsco.net) and the other is the production site (caredesign.net). Both sites are on the same server, but have separate cpanels as they are both real domains. WIth dreamweaver, I have my production site set as the remote server, and the testing site set as the testing server, both with different login credentials.

When making changes in my local directory, it automatically uploads these files, upon save, to both directories. I know your situation is reverse. But the simplicity is the same. There is a feature that can search the production site, and then only download new changes from production site to local directory. You still have to manually start this process, but at least you do not have to look to see what is new and what is not to determine what to download.

Isn´t it possible to change simply the header.inc to change the module path?

The two site are also on the same server.

why not using symlinks for that?

did you read http://www.boonex.com/trac/dolphin/wiki/TutorialHowToReplicateDolphin already?

Just a quick note on this one. There is a module called multi- dolphin sync by scriptologist in which has a one click sync between two sites on the same server. But in my testing, both domains needed to be on the same cPanel. It is rather pricey - $150 I think. I am using it on 4 sites and the one-click syncing does work. It is supposed to automatically sync, but for me that part is not working.

Only the header, footer are different.

 You might be doing the whole thing wrong. Make a template for local users. One install, two templates.
