well thanks to alext and a few other members of boonex. we managed to get ffmpeg to process video files on windows 7 64 bit server and also fix a bug where the m4v file was not being deleted from the flash video files. now yet another problem with recording video.
wether it is recording off anywhere on the website video comments /videos record option etc.
it goes processing for quite a long time then craps out with the following error dialog box
<error processing file>
I hope we can get this fixed.. If anyone knows what files to edit or mysql fields to edit to get recording videos live and proccessed correctly please leave a reply.. i have had nothing but nightmares with windows 7 and the videos since 7.0.5 first came out. but we managed to solve a few of them.. hopefully this one gets solved too.... give it your best shot! please!

im sure you posted this already somewhere in your quest to get RMS working, but what is your java version?
i am facing the same issue on linux boxes where video comments are not working. moved to another server with a different version of java on the RMS and the video comments and video record works.
i am in the process of testing this situation now, but i am leaning toward java version being a PITA

ok installed the latest version of java.. version 6.. it gave me
error processing file with JAVA_HOME set to the correct directory in program files.
moving it all into RMS this is what happened (also changing JAVA_HOME to the rms directory)
goes through proccessing (long wait)
then.....
error processing file...
putting JAVA_HOME into the bin directory and trying again
error processing file
deleteing java version 6 update 24 from the programs list. and trying it again with only a copy of that version in the RMS directory.
processing
error processing file..
I give up...
try to find out how that person got both video commants and video record to work for me k?
or at least what version of java and where to put it
|
oh boy... rebooting the system.. and trying again...
internet explorer spun for a while doing the proccessing
then went non responsive.
i tried rms\jre for JAVA_HOME (gave me error processing file)
and rms\jve\bin for JAVA_HOME (gave me the no repsonse explorere)
not having much luck at all am i

wrapper.java.command="C:\Program Files (x86)\ImageJ\jre\bin\java.exe" in the wrapper.config
gave me the error "connection error. press ok to reconnect" with both /// and \\\ for directory slashes
now trying rms\jre\bin
ack... this is a nightmare... I am going no where fast.. same thing happened and with java 1.6.0
it's totally messed up.. i need major help on this one

32-bit Java 1.6.0_20 & 64 bit version
copied over th 64 bit version of jre to RMS jRE and got the (connection error) copied over the 32 but verion of JRE to RMS and got the (error processing file) took over 6 minutes to get it.
JAVA_HOME=C:\RMS\jre\bin
wrapper.config = wrapper.java.command=C:\RMS\jre\bin\java.exe
REBOOTED after each install.. video comments and vode recording just simply will not work on windows with 64 or 32 bit versions of the above mentioned java....
does anyone have the answers i need to get these two to work?

i checked the htdocs\flash\modules\video\files to see if it was actually making files? IT WASN'T
I then checked htdocs\modules\boonex\videos\data\files and there was none in there as well.
What the hell.. if i record a video using record it should make a file somewhere right?
|
what ports are you running RMS on and make sure that these ports are open for incoming and outgoing. the RMS allows the record, then its pushed back to dolphin for processing. if the ports are not open for communication, then the file will not exist, because its not able to be pushed back to dolphin.

just went into flash apps.. there was ports 9035 and 10080
i went into the firewall and made a rule for allowing incomming and outgoing to both these ports.
now trying.....
error processing file

There is a lot of RTMP file transfer on internet explorer...1935
takes a very long time processing a 10 second video record.
barely any on wrapper...31000
can't find any files during proccessing in any of the directories.
working on my main machine with the main dns
and it is always the same thing
a very long processing time and then "error processing file"

ok first thing i see is a conflict of ports that you say you see activity on and the ports in which you say you have configured for RMS to run on.
so you need to open a terminal, and kill -9 whatever instance of RMS is running. then restart it with ./red5.sh at the same time, you need to fire up the browser to record the video, i dont know if you are running on one monitor or not, so however you work that out, you need to record the video, and you need to watch the terminal window. you should see activity upon a sucessful connection to RMS while you are recording.
after you click stop on the browser, then the activity would need to write back to dolphin so that FFMPEG can process the video file. i am currently checking to see if you have incoming and outgoing on the correct ports, you should nmap your network to make that determination using the TCP scan of your IP or domain name either one.

my first impression here is that RMS is either misconfigured, or your ports are not open for RMS to push the video file back.

Ok tried red5 it gave a very detailed report... however it did not report anything once the file FAILED TO PROCCESS.....
It just went to the end of the list.. and was processing the file.... then stopped with that proccessing error in explorer but no details in red5 as to why.
here are the dumps:

One thing worth checking, I've had the infinite processing issue with the video recorder for a while, and I've noticed that the error_log file (which is rarely where the action it's reporting error for is) was referencing the fact that popen had been disabled for "Security reasons". I removed popen from disable, and now it works perfectly.
the followup question becomes, While I know popen can be a security risk on servers where multiple admins/users/etc... can upload PHP, and popen would allow then to enact certain things as a higher access user...But if I'm the only person who can upload php files, and sftp/ssh/scp to my server (public http access aside), How much risk is there in popen being enabled?
