[[ ]] symbols all over the place ... how to fix?

this only happens in the forum module

my site was working fine

until i compiled language

now i get [[  ]] symbols all over the place

it gets fixed when i click compile:en

well .... it get fixed in the English language .... but NOT in the Spanish language

things i tried:

deleting and importing the spanish language / clearing all cashe

all menu buttons related to orca forum has the [[ xyz]] symbols

would appreciate any tips .... please

it has [[Forum index]]    [[New Topic]]

and everything else is in brackets

please help

recompile the languages ..

yes, i recompile, and it fix problem BUT IN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE

it does not recompile in other language

(im using the default template)

 I did recompile it in the other language

- in the language admin

- in the module admin

still the same

Yeah this sucks big time...

 

CHECK please in this folder if you have your language there.

/modules/boonex/forum/integrations/base/langs   if not, then you cant compile your spanish...

I dont know the spanish code, I would think it is sp ... SO make a copy of the ( en ) language file, and put it on your desktop and rename it to ( sp ) or what ever spanish is called. Then upload it to the folder up above.

And yes, you have to translate it olso !

 

Please olso check that the " standard " language is the language you compile in the forum!

thanks, i did that

now it lets me compile spanish

BUT

now the [[ Forum ]] symbols turned to _forum

im getting lots of dashes now

(but it looks better though)

any tips?

SOLVED:

the [[ ]] symbols goes away when you compile the language

the __ symbols means that the OTHER language installed does not include the module

 

and that's the truth and nothing but the truth
