is an hexadecimal code which will be replaced with a space.

&nbsp (without ; at the end) will not be replaced with a space and will be displayed as a text string ;-)

We also get this when a member composes a message using the wysiwyg editor. The other member gets an email stating:

We are glad to inform you that the member
[name] (url) has sent you a message!

Then the nbsp code shows up in the message.
