"Module not work bad problems error help me"

"Bad problems it's not work!!!!!!!!!! Help!!!!!"

Sometimes I getting messages with similar meaning from my customers who purchased some modules and need my help with installation or something. Even if module doesn't requires any code changing - just copy_and_install, somehow they copying only part of the module files, or not opening installation.txt file to follow the simple rules or something else and as result (of course) - non-working module or site.

I'm curious: does they really think that the module maker is mystical seer who knows everything or I can guess what's going on inside their system in real time even without any links?

"I get an error and page doesn't work"

When I ask them 'what error do you see' in the most cases it's something like

Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/home/public_html/blahblah.php'

which from my point of view doesn't require any explanation.

"FTP? cPanel? What is it?"

When I trying to help in some cases I asking for FTP or cPanel access, but they just wondering "what is it?". I think if you wanna make your own site, especially online community, you should know at least how to copy files to the server. Or hire somebody to do it for you if you don't want to learn it / mess with it / computers are scares you. Or better just figure how to copy files, where's your site admin panel is located and how to make double click with the mouse.

"I bought your module a week ago, still don't see it installed on my site"

Does modules are jumping on the customer's website without installation just after he purchased them? That's would be awesome.

I'm curious: is it just me so lucky to provide such support or it's kind of normal?

I get those from time to time as well.

I think it's normal. There will always be a few.
