ok, i don t quite understand...

What is the best way to create a field with a "selection" type and dropdown section.

Do i have to edit this in the database?

This worked on earlier versions, I dont understand why it doesnt work now?

Is there a way to manually place the correct options into the selection list and a way to manually add in a default selection?

For example

Hair Colour:
Blonde
Brunette
Redhead


comes out as:
Hair Colour "Select It"

instead see more of
Hair Colour "Blonde" as a default.

In the old version it chose the first option in the list as the default. see v5.2 I have this working perfectly on one of my older sites.

And can I manually change it somewhere so the selections dont show up as:

Hair Colour
_Blonde
_Brunette
_Redhead

This is kind of a rediculous flaw as it is one of the Key Fields i use in taylored profile creation.

Has anyone managed to get it working successfully? by manually doing it or applying some sort of mod?

Please elaborate... or lay out some simple instructions to get this field to work.

This is the last glitch I am trying to fix... as working on a new test site at the moment.
