you could create a API, and have it as a plugin.

but boonex has alot more to worry about, with the likes of alot of bugs and security issues. up to my eye balls and have a total of 37 bugs with the membership level and actions. ~_-

if their is more improvement, and a far more effective area for developers to communicate, then i would say boonex would get more of a professional response from professional developers.

I'd be up for the challenge, the MySQL and PHP for this would be pretty see more straight forward as a standalone, but integrating it with dolphin based on a specific version...
