whats the best way to get members to your site

Hey guys,

I been running my site for almost a year and having tough time getting people to my site, i guess fighting myspace and facebook isnt the way to goo lololol.

I did the newpaper ads, sent out or posted my ad on kijiji and other forms and didnt expect it to be this hard get people to join up on my site.

what are you guys doing to get members to your sites?

Instead of fighting Myspace & Facebook, join them. Is your site niche based or broad?

If niche based, provide tons of content.

Try google Adwords for a bit.

Content is king, just having another social network is not the answer its been done. Facebook made it bigger than Myspace because of its both clean where no one can put up a stupid looking background and confuse everyone and the people who join you actually know you. Myspace was more like a pissing contest to see who had the most friends and had a lot more spammers than Facebook. Find a niche for your community and then you can become big. Faebook started out only for their college dorm not the world see more
