php.ini ...dont work please help me

hello. i wanna know if somebody could help me i have problem when i upload some pictures. some one doesnt show and other doesnt upload
i try to change the PHP.INI but i dont know if i do it well

memory_limit=228M
upload_max_filesize = 100M

i put the PHP.INI in this directory
www./
www./php.ini

please help me

the problem is some picture doesnt upload an others doesnt show

PLEASE i NEE HELP

Still have the same problem (6.00002,5) :-) I think this problem happens when the picture to upload to the gallery is too big...
