Dolphin 8 - Grid Preview

Andrew Boon posted 22nd of November 2011 in Dolphin.pro News. 23 comments.

Welcome to the grid! Take a look at this new system tool we just developed for Dolphin 8. It will be used by some of the platform components and may be used by 3rd-party developers in their modules.

Grid is designed to display and allow interaction with various lists of data items, such as profies, keys, transactions, messages, etc. It supports pagination; drag'n'drop rearragement; sorting; actions and custom items like icons, colored labels, etc.

Check out the video preview and let it spark a new wave of ideas in your inner developer. Oh, and if you actually are a developer - make sure to read the Dolphin 8 Grid note for developers by Alex T.

Looks amazing indeed! I like the ability to add a user directly from the grid. I actually needed that feature a couple of times.
paansystems
you want to manually add users to db?
nikoma
I have had situations where I needed to rebuild accounts, yes.

Hello misterpopper!

Looks nice - however I keep my investments low as I am moving to D8 and I think I must see what it brings in order to decide which modules I need and don't need.
Off subject, but any plans for utilities to migrate current sites from Dolphin 7.x to Dolphin 8?

Thanks
paansystems
yes, i have heard that this is possible ...

Please separate D8 Market from D7 market.
Set some nice standards for the mods in D8 market...

Nice. Does the music always play though when working the grid?

There should be also visible membership type on each member, date of registration,ip address, pause user (temporarily block user) and moderator status (moderators should be highlighted somehow and also abiolity to quickly change membership level and moderator status of an user) Also there should be some functions list by membership, moderator status so I can list all moderators for example. Login as user button on each member should be also great ...so admin can login as a user...
tomakali
except site administration tools, simple admin functions can be made available in front end itself.
like, assigning memberships, editing page seo, page access control etc
freakpower
thats correct but if they made that centralised members grid tool, it should have all functions to manage members, it will be bad if I can perform certain members operation from one place, other from different place.SO it will be good if I can quickly delete member or assign mod status from frontend , but all those operatiuons that can be performed in frontend should be also available in grid for backend admins so they dont have to do something in frontend ansd something in backend..

Guys, this is just a sample table to test the grid. Actual administration will be different.
then it seems spaces in a username will be allowed?

Hi, this is my first post and take the opportunity to greet the community.
I wonder when it will be available for Dolphin 8, do not know if this question has been answered.
A greeting.
Pepe Casado.

hi
what about the RTL support in the new D8 for hebrew and arabic or we will be disappointed again?
paansystems
is the GRID object planned for D7 also?

Below is the legacy version of the Boonex site, maintained for Dolphin.Pro 7.x support.
The new Dolphin solution is powered by UNA Community Management System.
