As you maybe already read the official statement from Boonex under Products/Poseidon is: "Estimated release: March 2010"
I think we can be lucky if we get it for usage in summer 2010, because we are already late with 7 and because the different 6.x releases who will naturally slow down V8 as well as all that what is going on to switch over with boonex.com to V7 and all the other "time consuming" new things that are going on here.
I really hope and wish Andrew and the Team a see more lucky hand for the next months, so that they can concentrate as early as possible on Poseidon who will as multi-(sub)-domain version sure dominate the market for community-cms software final, from my point of view.

why can't you just focus on D7 first, then worry about the future?
