adress book importer using plaxo

hi i was successfully integrated plaxo into my site by editing the tellfriend.php.i imported and passed the emails that from the plaxo widget to the tellfriend mail() function..my question is

is the mail() function is capable for sending multiple emails???

did i need to follow any method to extract and send each email if so plz give me the code to extract and send
