.htaccess ftp can't upload

Hello... I have dolphin software package unzipped..then almost all folders has an .htaccess file...but i can't upload .htaccess files in my ftp server using my CuteFTP 8.0 PRO ftp client. Is anybody here knows how to upload .htaccess in an ftp server? thanks for any help..

your server might be set not to allow that, so the only way to do it is to rename the .htaccess to htaccess.txt then upload them all and then rename them once in the server back to .htaccess
it is because .htaccess is an extention like .php or .html and some servers do not recognize it as a valid extention for uploading and some hosts block uploading it as a security measure.

thanks sammie...but the same thing happen...i renamed it and upload successfully...but by the time i.rename it back to .htaccess into my ftp remote host..it doesn't allow...gosh! :(

it sounds like your host has blocked the use of .htaccess files to override their settings.

i have an issue i install Dolphin 6.00 when i run install i got the internal server error..i remove first line from .htaccess file..i even remove .htaccess file from root..but probelm didnt solve..its challending problem i think normally solution is in .htaccess file.now i remove this..also i uplod it without first line...any one help me

I also have the .htaccess issue, where Im on a Yahoo server, and Yahoo prohibits and blocs .htaccess

any suggestions?

or can i not use Dolphin and wasted my money buying an ad free license
