Dear Friends,
We are happy to welcome you on this blog to discuss all the issues related to the Boonex Affiliate program, of course within the framework provided by Unity Terms.
Visit this blog to read announcements, news, plans, and to participate in a constructive dialogue. We will also share with you the ideas and other feedback received from our partners.
Today, with great pleasure we are presenting a story kindly written by one of our most active affiliates so far, James Tadeo. We have suggested a few questions to use as a guide if it's helpful.
We ask you to read with an unbiased attitude, and leave your friendly comments and ideas for improving the content of the future stories.
We would like to point out that the whole idea behind these stories is to encourage interaction within the Boonex Affiliate community and we are proud to liaise at this point.
Please welcome, James Tadeo's story.
Why did you choose BoonEx community software over other solutions?
Today, the Web, programming and design have mashed up nicely over the past few years as techniques and technologies have evolved. I think it is one of the reasons you are seeing some really super cool Web apps out there. Some of which of course is Dolphin, Orca and Ray by BoonEx.
In the past, I've tried and worked with several social Web app projects. I even started writing my own as I am also a programmer. After many months and long hours I started to do some research. During my search, I found the BoonEx site. When I saw what Boonex was doing, it took me only a few hours to realize that I had found the foundation framework, not only for my own work but also for my clients.
How did BoonEx products benefit your business since you implemented them?
As a programmer, it didn't take me long to realize this was also very flexible system. This means I can get the basis of a social net site very quickly. I can also customize the site and get a site out in record time. Just recently, I created a development installer that will do an install in 38 seconds. Since the source code is provided, I am able to modify it and make it do what I wanted. It's a great framework for me.
As someone who provides programming and dev services it benefited me in that I didn't have to write code to deliver the basic parts of a social net site. It had all the parts I've needed and more. This is also very good for the client. It means their cost to produce the site is a fraction of what it would cost someone like me to make one for them from scratch. It made sense and cents for me and my clients.
It's also very handy that BoonEx had built its products with technologies that you can easily acquire. If you had to write your own custom extension, it is possible. As a bonus, the AV capabilities and interaction paradigms that Boonex introduced are super cool. Just check the Dolphin admin system. Drag and drop functions make it very easy to adjust menus and arrange content blocks. This stuff was unheard of just a few years ago and are expensive to custom code.
To be sure, it's been an amazing ride. I use to cringe whenever a client wanted a site and I would then have to go through a list of features of social net site apps and what they were missing or needed. It ended up being a mish mash of this social net app with that social net app and so forth. It was a mess. Having it all in one framework was the very key in my decision to go with BoonEx. Think about it -- Dolphin, Orca and Ray are killer combinations, and it's all automatic, baby! It is awesome.
Please write a few sentences about how you partner with BoonEx through the affiliate program?
Partnering with Boonex was straight forward. Using the affiliate login and backend systems, I can keep track of what's going on and what affiliate programs are working well. I know for myself it's been great to see the company growing as new communities and users are introduced to this very powerful system.
How do you promote BoonEx? Are your promotional activities within one community only?
Promoting BoonEx was simple. I would provide a link from my Dolphin tutorial site at www.BoonexNerd.com. Another way is via direct client or user contact. A dialog is opened up and it if their needs match a BoonEx product, I would send them info links to BoonEx.
I also write free tutorials and create mods for the program and post them on my site. This builds some confidence with what is possible with BoonEx products. I think it also gets them excited about what it can do for their own sites and that's pretty cool.
But most of all, I think BoonEx products is so far ahead of the ones I've tried. To date, there is nothing that I've seen that comes close to what BoonEx has done. Just about anyone I've shown the product has shown a lot of interest. I also find they will try other social net programs but they end up coming back.
With greater things on the horizon I think BoonEx will again help to redefine community Web app builders.
What would you say to prospective affiliates?
I think having a Web site that will showcase the capabilities of BoonEx products will help. I also think BoonEx products can serve as a complement to your existing business whether you are a reseller, programmer, designer or a community owner.
What would be your best advice?
My best advice to prospective affiliates? Hmmmm...I say get your social on! Get out there and get excited about the work you do. Show some passion and enthusiasm. It will show through in the work you do and also how you deal with people. It's also important to remember that affiliates can help build a stronger BoonEx community and this benefits everyone involved. I think we can take a chapter out of some the more popular open source initiatives out there and understand how their game was played in their early days and continues to be played right up to today.
In summary, I think the best part about BoonEx is that I've been fortunate to meet up with some fantastic, talented and great people through the Unity site and also through my own communities that I've built. I can wholeheartedly say that this is my favorite community builder as I have personally experienced it for myself both as a programmer and user.
Thanks BoonEx!
