Upgrade Failed

So I just performed an upgrade of Dolphin from 6.05 to 6.1.1. Unfortunately it failed. While the upgrade script reported a clean upgrade my system now returns a Server 500. Setting permissions to either the final state of 6.0.5 or to 777 recusrively did not work.

I'm very glad I made a backup of my production site and ran the upgrade on the test version.

Any ideas?

Hello!

Plz specify - did you have .htaccess in your 6.0.0005 ? If haven't then delete this file from upgrade patch and try to repeat upgrade again.

no, no .htaccess in the original. Trying the upgrade again.

Version mysql 5.0.45

still getting the 500 again

Ok, I'm at a loss now. What exactly is the diff file for? Here's what I do:

1) download the free Upgrade
2) Unzip into temp dir
3) Copy all files from temp dir into dir to be upgraded using cp -r * ../dir/
4) run the php upgrade script

I don't think the mysql conversion error is the problem with system because I get a 500 error not a database access error.

Dowloading to my laptop and then moving files from each directory doesn't seem to make a lot of sense since there are MANY directories. see more If it's permissions that's the issue there should be a permission setting script.

So I'm stuck until I get some help. Pretty frustrating guys, and it's not my first rodeo.
I assume you are using a clean database (or atleast one that hasnt been upgraded already) each time ??

As for the permissions, it most likely is a permissions issue, (owner and permissions) depending on how you uploaded them.

Yes, definetely a clean database. Is there a permissions setting script for 6.1 ?

Finally, clean upgrade. Removing the .htaccess file from the upgrade file did the trick.

Allright, in the continuing saga of the upgrade, we're on the way there, but Clicking on Tools -> Modules -> Refresh all modules generates the following error; “Fatal error: Call to undefined function getprofileinfo() in /home/masonicp/public_html/inc/membership_levels.inc.php on line 424
