The Theory of Evolution and Thank You!

Back in 1985 I saved up my pennies and purchased my first car.  It was a 1964 Chevy Biscayne (2d Sedan) that I got for $150.00.  It had a straight six 250 with a powerglide transmission and a push button AM Radio, seated 6 and had a trunk that could hold another 12.  It was white with an aqua blue roof and an auqa, white & black striped interior and very strange colored carpet.  It was even customized for this price with lots of rust.  I loved that car as it was the official party wagon for my group that I ran around with.

Today, I picked up my new truck.  A 2010 Dodge Durango Limited with the 5.7L Hemi, 5-Speed Transmission, Leather Interior, Dual 8 Way Power Sets with behind warmers, Sirus Sattellite Radio, UConnect Entertainment System, Dual Heated Side Mirrors, Navigation System, Power Liftgate, Dual Climate Control, Blue Tooth system for my cell phone (This thing will transfer a call from my cell to the truck and not drop it and it has voice recognition even).  I could keep going for many many many paragraphs on what this truck has, in the end I have my tow package, winch and a few dozen other toys inside of it.  Price?  $44K for this latest daily driver.  With 3 daughters I see it as money well spent to keep them safe and give me some cool toys.

So how does this apply to Boonex?  Well, it's about evolution and how it happens.  The internet used to be pretty simple, a basic HTML page that was used to advertise an item or provide some very basic information.  From there it went to the days of Flash Chat rooms (We all remember WBS I'm sure where you spent more time re-logging in than you did chatting) and dating sites that would let you look at a picture or 2 and send an e-mail out.

Today we have sites like E-Bay that enable us to upload and look at multiple images of an item, do real time bidding up to the very last second and so many other cool toys, facebook & myspace have developed into huge conglomerate sites that allow people to socially network in real time with millions of others and are constantly raising the bar for what we expect online.  Heck, I was even able to first build and then locate my new truck online versus having to wait for it to be built.  Took time to find one, but we finally found it within 42 miles of my house (right in Parma Ohio on Brookpark RD for those who know the area).

So moving this finally to Boonex, many remember the days of AEDating (I personally don't, but I've heard about them) and the evolutions into Dolphin 5, Dolphin 6 and now the evolution of D7.  With all of this technology, we're actually creating new technology that even FB & MS aren't using yet.  We have sites with full video capabilities,   The sites that we put together today have the ability to run live communications almost as well as telephones manage to do and we don't have the budgets for development that they have.  Our sites are able to easily link into many other sites, RSS Feeds are baby talk for us now as we look into OpenSocial and all of it's capabilities.

Today I'd like to say thank you to every member of Unity, this goes for those at Boonex, in the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, The United States, Japan, India, China, Russia, Brazil, Mexico, The Phillipines, South Africa, Italy, France, Germany, Denmark and all the others out there.  I'm saying thank you because each and every member of Unity has contributed to the development of Dolphin, even if you don't realize it, whether it's with trouble reports, requests for help, answering questions or just plain old asking for more.  Without every single member of Unity, Dolphin would not be where it is today, whether your an Admin, Pundit, Expert, Contributor or Member, Thank You for all your hard work, knowledge, experience, wisdom and even inexperience.  We might make fun of some of the newbies, but the newbies are the ones who really do help come up with new ideas for Dolphin, because this is how we have all been able to benefit from Dolphin and I'd be lying if I said Dolphin did not have a major impact on my life, as I'm sure it has the lives of many others.

So, in closing, I'd just like to say Thank You to everyone for helping Boonex to create an awesome product that we are all able to benefit from.

LOL houstonlively. Well mydatery, it seem you got a little melancholy with this. Yes, we may thank BoonEX as a whole ...

Talking about impact.... Hmm, well it had an impact too on my life, the impact of distancing myself from friends family, even from my spouse which resulted in separation from too much believing in Dolphin. I'm not saying this is Dolphin's see more fault. Im aware is mine and i still believe i can make it out, having a good working community, with bug-free. If is 6.16 or 7, i really don't know...

I've seen Dolphin growing a lot since version 5, and i am very pleased to see that. On the other hand i'm sad because i cannot reach to it due to some shortcomings D7 has... But it seems i do have some options in the end to make my way out and who knows... I will finally have the community script i always wanted. In the same time i have appreciation for BoonEX and all of the work they do. Even if sometimes i'm disappointed. But it goes away if there is a solution .

And again, excuse me if my English is not neat enough since this is'nt my mother language.

I'm not even that old, at least I don't think so. Technology when I grew up was going to the library, looking through one of those index cards, getting the number and info...finding a book, encyclopedia, newspaper, magazine, etc. Spending a lot of time looking through the darn thing and hoping it was what you were looking for. If not repeating the process until you did find what you were looking for. Talk about time consuming, but that was the way it was. A lot slower paced lifestyle back then compared see more to today's world. I think I still have windows 3.0 or 3.1 somewhere and now I'm playing with windows 7, quite an evolution. I can't possibly imagine what it will be like in 5, 10, or even 20 years from now.

We are now in the time of the evolution of ALL...with some quantum leaps in between to speed things up a bit. Once you become "conscious" of your surroundings, your feelings, and diving really really deep within-BAMMM! You'll see how everything is evolving to create a better world...even through technology and how so many can now connect through social networking...anywhere on Earth
