Suggestions for Unity Market

Wanted to make some suggestions for Market.

1. It would be nice if we could bookmark or save mods we have found in a favorites or wish list folder so that we can refer back to them at a later time.

2. Because many of the mods in D7 are auto installs and yet some still require some hacks to core code. It would be nice if when members are viewing a mod if there was an Icon or something that identifies no Core changes to code. And if changes are made to core code it would be nice for the developer to provide how many files are changed so when evaluating different mods you can gauge how complicated the install will be and how this will effect the compatibility of future upgrades.

Feel free to contribute some addtional ideas.

Here's some cheap answers!

1. This can be done by bookmarking the web page. Simple, eh? Want even more organization!? Add a bookmarks folder and store them there!

2. It's rather obvious that modifications will make some sort of change to the code, along with the database. As long as a developer is committed, I see no issue with future releases as long as they keep their modifications updated.

Personally, I'd prefer the implementation of a proper Jobs section before anything else, as this see more should be a top priority.

Jobs section would be good, But a decent search (for whole site) would be better, and a higher priority IMHO - still seeing lots of noobs that cannot find the info they need, and the same jocks making fun of them.

RE Marketplace - Move tags to less obtrusive location - I always feel tags are a good supplement to navigation, but they should not replace it, plus tags are spread out over several pages - this is an epic fail as far as good navigation techniques are concerned.

NAVIGATION SHOULD see more BE ON ONE PAGE!!! Surely you know that Booonex!

Marketplace should also be redesigned to promote the new methods of coding - IE there should be an EXTENSIONS section - where new modules are sold - most mods are little more than hacks to main code - encouraging this practice to stop is a good thing.

Of course hacks still have their place - but they should be located in a separate section - MODS

So to a new / Noob / Non-coder - Go to the extensions section for mods that will not break your site in a upgrade, or if you don't mind getting dirty and hacking your code a bit - go to the mods section.

I would say that there needs to be a decent category layout - obviously a 1000 different ways of doing this, and something that Boonex need to figure out but a good start might be categories for each existing component for the mods section, and perhaps something along the lines of the JED for the extensions section.

And before someone gets stuck up on the semantics of Extensions v's Modules - either will do, but the important thing to consider is that these are modifications that should EXTEND the code - not alter it.

Also, unity market search is under development.

see moreIf we had a right to assistance, it would be very good...

Also, some MODs for sale (in Market) don't offer any type of assistance or even provide a demo, nor enough information to understand (without the possibility of misunderstandings) the usefulness of the same ones, inducing us into error, and leading us to buy (as was my case) MODs that don't correspond minimally to what we needed.

Problem unanswered:
