Simplifying the Join page

Visitors to my site are being turned away by the complicated join form with tags, headline, description etc that need filling in. I can make these invisible in the Join Form Builder but after registering, new members get error messages with regards to the invisible fields not being filled in.

How can I remove or block these error messages?

Dolphin 6.0.003

Thanks

Make the field 'inactive' (drag off) in the Join Form, and 'Active' (drag on) in the Edit Profile
nurke
I would rather click on unwanted block and under avanced link UNCLICK "Mandatory" button. Then move them to inactive...

I'm using 6.0.0005 here and there is no drag on or drag off facility in the Join form builder, I can either make the fields visible or invisible. Once invisible they generate error messages on the "email sent" page after a member joins which shouldnt happen as the fields were made invisible. bug?
I must be going mad because I cant find where to edit "edit profile" in the Builders section, or anywhere else for that matter.

Is this happening in 6.1?
