ONCE AND FOR ALL .....IS THERE OR IS THERE NOT DOCUMENTATION FOR THE INTEGRATION OF CCBILL FOR DOLPHIN?
I HAVE SEARCHED EVERY POSSIBLE AVENUE FOR MONTHS NOW AND AM GETTING VERY FRUSTRATED WITH THE LACK OF SUPPORT ON THIS ISSUE.

WHY WOULD DOLPHIN OFFER THIS IN THEIR SOFTWARE WHEN CLEARLY NO ONE KNOWS HOW TO IMPIMENT IT.

AND WHY IS IT SO @#$%$# HARD TO FIND OUT HOW TO DO IT IF IT CAN INFACT BE DONE?

BY THE WAY ....PAY-PAL , 2CHECKOUT.COM AND AUTHORIZE.NET (BUILT INTO THE SCRIPT....) DO NOT ALLOW FOR ADULT CONTENT OR DATING SITES(PLEASE CORRECT ME IF I'M WRONG!!!!!)

SO WHAT IS THE ALTERNITAVE.

I HAVE SPENT SO MUCH TIME TO LEARN CUSTOMIZE  AND IMLIMENT THIS SCRIPT AND NOW I AM READY TO REALY LAUNCH BUT WITH ALL THE TIME AND ENERGY PUT IN, IT IS TIME TO GET SOMETHING BACK.

THE POINT OF A PAY SITE IS TO GET PAID ........CAN SOMEONE PLEASE REVEAL THIS MUCH COVETTED SECRET?

I CANNOT POSSIBLY BE THE ONLY DOLPHIN SITE OWNER TO HAVE THIS PROBLEM......CAN I?

Hello.

I will try to help you. I will explain the process of setting up CCBill on both CCBill and Dolphin ends.

1) Access your CCBill account. You need to create a form (or a few of them) and payment options for your memberships. The default Dolphin configuration doesn't allow you to use CCBill for recurring billing, so don't create options involving it.

2) If you're going to use your CCBill account for more than one site, you'll need to create subaccounts. Your default subaccount is named see more "0000", the consecutive will be named by increasing the default by one: "0001", "0002" and so on.

a) To create a subaccount, navigate to "Tools -> Account Maintenance -> Account Setup" and enter a subaccount number or leave it intact. Click "Next".

The following page is rather self-explanatory, but you will have to specify the following URLs:

* Approval URL - http://yoursite.com/membership.php
* Denial URL - http://yoursite.com/membership.php
* Opt Out URL - http://yoursite.com/membership.php

Fill in the other fields referring to the explanations under them.

Click "Next".

b) The next screen should normally be left blank. Anyways here are the values which must be set on this screen:

* User Managemenet - None
* Collect Username / Password - Do not collect Username and Password
* Username Type - User Defined

Click "Next"

c) The next screen can be skipped because you don't want CCBill to handle installation of their system because Dolphin already has the appropriate module for that. Click "Next".

d) Select "Single Billing Type". As I have said, the default Dolphin CCBill module doesn't allow to use recurring billing.

e) Set your price and the membership period. Click "Next".

f) This screen allows you to set up other pricing options in case you are going to offer more than one pricing options for the same membership. But keep in mind that the default CCBill module allows to use only one form and only one payment option. Make your changes and click "Next".

g) Choose your preferred form layout and click "Next".
Select the color theme of your form and click "Next".
You can select any index page on the next screen because you won't need it anyways.
Click "Finish" (don't click "Download" because you won't use the index page).

3) This new screen allows you to make additional settings and change the ones you already made. What's important to do here is clicking the "Advanced" link to enter the "Approval Post" and "Denial Post" URLs. They should be as follows:
* Approval Post URL - http://yoursite.com/checkout/ccbill.php
* Denial Post URL - http://yoursite.com/checkout/ccbill.php

4) Click "Form Admin". If you're going to receive payments by credit cards, click the form name ending with "cc", for check payment option click the one ending with "ck". Remember the form name.

5) Click "Generate HTML". Select only one subscription type for your form. Click "Submit". Choose the default language and click "Submit". Choose the default currency and click "Submit". The next screen will show you some variables which you will have to enter in your Dolphin Admin.

These variables are:
* clientAccnum - corresponds to "Account number"
* clientSubacc - corresponds to "Subaccount number"
* formName - corresponds to "Form name"
* allowedTypes - corresponds to "Allowed types"
* subscriptionTypeId - corresponds to "Subscription type id"

Remember these variables and their values.

6) Access Dolphin Admin and navigate to "Settings -> Payment Settings -> CCBill". Input the values you have learned in the previous step.

7) You can now test your transaction:

a) Log into your CCBill account

b) Navigate to Tools -> Account Maintenance -> Transaction Test Settings -> choose your subaccount from the drop-down menu on the upper-left

c) Click "Create New User" -> Enter the email of your test user -> Enter the IP address range (the Low and High IP Addresses). For example 213.162.98.0 (for Low) and 213.162.98.255 (for High). The server from which you will be accessing your site in test mode must belong to this IP range -> Update

d) Now you will be able to test your transactions with the email you provided in the previous step and the following credit card numbers:

Visa - 4444444444446666
MasterCard - 5555555555557777

The other info on the checkout page may be fictitious.

I hope this helps.
Igor.

IgorL
Thank you.

I will always be glad to help regarding payment providers.
ok i am goin to try this out.
a really odd thing is that i actually set up the ccbill info and poked around the db payment settings the first time i installed dolphin and it worked fine.
it updated the user to paid etc..
then i was trying to change designs ended up having to reinstall dolphin 100 times.
then the newest one came out so i tried that one now too.
but ccbill refused to work because i didnt enter the right settings again
and i changed a few things so now i cant remember how to do see more it right!
grrr
ok now ill stop babling and try again
scuse me.
((burp))

oooh ya....thanks for the detailed instructions.
you saved me lots of frustration if it works
if not i will come and haunt you (please email me your home address for that ok)....
oh ya sorry i was just leaving.
This does not work either.
There is something that has to be set in the database files.
memlevels, PaymentSubscriptions, PaymentProviders, PaymentParamiters.
something somewhere!!
but i just cant figure it out again.
something has to be set correctly somewhere in order for this to update the users from standard user or promotional user to the PAID memberships.

the test transaction all work ok, but it refuses to update the user.
its really reaaaaaaaaally making me loco because ive spend see more almost a week now installing and reinstalling various versions of 6.3 up to 6.1 cus ONE OF them i had working last week.

i think it was 6.3 ad free but anyways

someone has to know how to set the database files correctly
pllllllllllllllllllllease anyone
lol
YAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaY! CCBill is finally working.

INDEED YOUR INSTRUCTIONS ARE CORRECT.
im so greatfull for your in depth description on getting this to work correctly.
one thing about the instructions though is that when it comes to username and password settings for CCBILL the username and password instructions arent really too clear. the ccbill settings allow you to choose dont show username and password settings but at checkout it seems the form will not follow through without a username see more and password inputed into a text box that is not displayed.
wierd i know but thats what it does for me anyway.
so i had to choose a different password scheme.
i had wondered about this before when i had it working last week. i cant yet create passwords and username to upload into a file for CCBill to use because i dont know how to get ccbills stored folder to communicate with my databas or which file path i should make CCBill store the username and password in. so much to learn still.....
i also dont want to change anything in those protected folders ccbill put on my server. thats something ill get around to later. i cant allow it to randomly create new names and passwords for my existing free users because it would confuse them about thier other username and password. if they signup one time and let the membership lapse after one month and try and reregister again with the same username and password as the Dolphin username it will already be in the CCBill file as alerady taken username.
soooooo. for right NOW im just going to store the username and password into a dummy folder where i can view it and it really has no meaning other then to allow the checkout process to complete without errors or fooling the user into thinking that CCBill just created a NEW username and password for them to use in dolphin. even if they chose something DIFFERENT then what the note says explaining to use the name and pass if u already have a free account.
which is bound to happen.
the user will still just have to use thier original stored in dolphins database.

OK my rant is over...sorry im bored lol

that brings my rant to an end......
well not yet,
BriannaLCoxxx
hey thank you for being so informative... there should be more helpful people such as yourself... much success to you. thanks
