Revolution in Kyrgyzstan

Andrew Boon posted 7th of April 2010 in . 33 comments.

Most of you know that BoonEx used to be based in Kyrgyzstan and we still have most of the developers and Agents working from there. RIght now Bishkek (capital) is reported to be a revolution town, with gunshots, death reports, looting and uncertainty. Local IPSs block parts of international traffic.

We have no idea how this may affect our operations, but wanted to share what's going on.

I am now in Sydney in Australia, feeling almost too safe, and very worried about our friends in Bishkek. Be safe, guys!

I hope whatever happens will be swift and everybody will be safe.

What we're watching and seeing here indicates that bus and truckloads of opposing forces are headed to this city from outlying regions to meet. Things look to be getting worse in the near future if this is true. Ransacking, burning, beating is on the rise.

I sincerely hope all of the BoonExers currently residing in Kyrgyzstan will be all right. From the reports I've been seeing, things appear to be heating up across the country. My thoughts will be with you, and please keep us updated.

It feels a little different when you know some of the people who must live through times of turmoil. I can't imagine how difficult it must be, not knowing what the future of your country may be, and to fear for the safety of your family. I will be hopeful for a better future, and a safe journey through difficult times, for all my friends in Kyrgyzstan.

My thoughts and heart is with you.

Apparently the president has left the building, and opposition is establishing control. Tragic as it is, fortunately it seems to not be a massive uprising that'd throw the country totally upside down. Keep up the spirits.

Stay in home guys, never look on the window, always stay low. I was 5 years old when we had a revolution here in Romania and I tell you it's terrible, you can feel your heart in the neck and you hardly can go to sleep. May God protect all of you! I hope this ends soon..

how's the situation over there?

In Bangkok it's pretty bad too. 21 deaths last night over 800 wounded. At the moment it's just in one area of the city. Depends on the gov and how they going to react. People are dense but try to appear as normal as possible. Good thing is, internet is not interrupted since the gov likes to have it transparent.

I hope everyone is alright with you and your families and friends and beloved ones, nothing worst from revelations and war and invasions too much lost for everyone. I belong to 3 countries which had war two of them between each other and the other one where I was born had more from war, invasion and revolution and and and…so guys be safe and our prayers for you. Let boonex the company take you under their wings in Australia or just keep in a safe side.
