We host a RED5 / RMS v7 server for 325 domains, pushing out close to 2TB of outbound transfer a month. This has given us some experience with running RMS under high usage conditions.... under many different situations.
We have noticed issues with the current RMS server... and while we could perhaps code around this, one of the problems is that BoonEx is continuing to use, and release with even Dolphin 7.0.3, RMS Server code, based on a 16 month old RED5 release.
BoonEx is still using red5 - Revision 3670 from Jun 16, 2009, even with the RMS server released for Dolphin 7.0.3
You can see the revision information here:
http://code.google.com/p/red5/source/list?num=25&start=3674
The above link will take you to the page with the 3670 revision - and you can use the "newer" navigation link there to see the many many bugs and issues that have been addressed since then.
Many RED5 (and thus, RMS) bugs have been fixed since June 2009... take a look for yourself.
I suggest that everyone ask (kindly) for BoonEx to release a new RMS build, based on the most recent Final Release (or most recent bug fixed SVN revision) of RED5.
This for the benefit of everyone; those on our RMS server(s), those running their own RMS servers; as RMS is a central and critical part of many peoples sites.
We will update it with the next release:
