Placing advetisments within Dolphin

nas posted 7th of July 2008 in Community Voice. 9 comments.

I was wondering whether there is a way to put advertisements throughout the dolphin pages. I am aiming to make some revenue off my site through advertising on pages rather than charging for membership. Does anyone know whether this is possible? If it isn't possible, are there any programmers out there who could make it happen?

Thanks,

Nick

Google adsense is your best friend. You can find some very helful information on how to accomplish this by James at:

Based on the prvious version of dolphin, but you should get the idea. Either similar or the same process.

Google adsense ads can be placed almost anywhere on your dolphin site. see more In blocks on specific pages. Or even in the header/footer areas of your site. You are only limited by your imagination.

Get an account from google at:
http://www.google.com/adsense for starters. Ads can be customized within your google account for size and colors to match your site to name a few.

Google pays per click x-amount which varies depending on the ad.

There are others out there, but adsense seems to be the more popular, and one of the better paying.

If you have some other ads you want to go with, they can be inserted into your pages the same way.

good luck.

you dont need a programmer to make it happen, you can place your adsense code in the header and or footer file to have ads top and bottom of every page. or on page_1.php to show on home page only. and in a html block for a block on other pages like profiles

Its really simple if u want to put it in differnt place instead of a header or footer only. go to ur admin panel >>page builder. select the page. take an html block. click on it. dont put ur code directly in the text area. click html for html editor. paste ur google ad code in it and save it. voila.
i dont see the that html button... just the text box
Yeah, I'm not seeing that ability, either. Version 7.3.3

This is great, but how would I get ads into the Events page? Events is not listed in the Page Builder so my HTML block will not work.

Thx.
Hello

I had noticed that you had an issue with adding Adsene to your site.

my site is http://www.dialectzone.com

The easiest and simplest solution is to get an adbrite account and then place your adsense code as 3rd party advertising, and set your CPM quite high, as this will not allow Adbrite to show their ads.

Once that is done, just go add the html code to your htlm_block

it works, not the best solution but it does work.
Hello:

I am wondering if somebody can tell me step by step how to place a google adsense code in the header using the administration area.

thank you,
use a banner, place the adsense code there

Below is the legacy version of the Boonex site, maintained for Dolphin.Pro 7.x support.
