Orca Forum Post probelm

In forums I select a Forum then I select a category and click new topic (or reply, same prob) I get  "Access denied. You must have special permissions to access this area or you are not logged in"

I am logged in, the forums are public and free is selected in admin. I have also allowed all under Standard Member, But i still cannot access the forum (no problem to post via admin).

Any ideas?

Stuart

I am using Dolphin 6.1.1.

Hi.
I dont know if you can or are able to help but I have a similar issue with 6.1.1 and groups.
I have a clean and errorless install of dolphin with orca and ray free.
Everything seems to be fine apart from groups.

The link path to the group, on the groups>categories>whatevercategory page, is " /groups/entry/blah " but the only folders in the groups folder are orca and gallery.
No " entry " folder.
Now I have read loads of posts on boonex and expertzzz and cannot see more get to the bottom of this.
I have tried editing the htaccess files and several of the other files mentioned in different posts.
I am running PHP Version 4.4.6 with xml and xslt both enabled.
I am getting 500 errors on my orca/index.php file as well as the orca folder itself, (current permission is 755, reset after install from 777) and therefore when the group page loads I get the following error messages...
Warning: file_get_contents(http://www.blah.com/groups/orca/?action=group_last_topics&forum=another-test&trans=1) [function.file-get-contents]: failed to open stream: HTTP request failed! HTTP/1.1 500 Internal Server Error in /home/blah/public_html/inc/classes/BxDolGroups.php on line 419.

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/blah/public_html/inc/classes/BxDolGroups.php:419) in /home/blah/public_html/inc/design.inc.php on line 495

The page loads but no css applied, and cant figure this error out at all.

If anyone can help it would be great :-)
cheers

Hi, I am not sure if this will help... I found that the Dolphin database would not work unless I used MySQL version 5. I also discovered that my server was using suPHP (PHPsu.exec). This caused a sever 500 error. I had to remove the default Dolphin PHP instruction (php_flag register_globals Off) from .htaccess (root). I then put this into the php.ini file (root).

I hope this helps!

Thanks for responding.
I have mysql 4.1.22 which doesn't sound too handy but don't have suPHP.
I have removed the line from htaccess and tried adding some instructions for php4 but still no joy.

Everything else seems to be working just fine all bar the groups setup and recall process.
Seems like it is not creating the directory called "entry" as it should be.
If you hear of anyone having similar issues please let me know.
Cheers :-)

and register globals is off too....... :-|

I just feel that it is something in the coding but cannot for the life of me find it..
I found the solution. It is a permissions issue on the orca folder. Look at the permissions of groups/orca. It should be 755.

I have had similiar errors whilst installing modules with SMF forums.

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/blah/public_html/inc/classes/BxDolGroups.php:419) in /home/blah/public_html/inc/design.inc.php on line 495

It may be that you have installed twice. May i suggest looking in home/blah/public_html/inc/design.inc.php on line 495 and having a look elsewhere in the file to see if the same code has been replicated!

Hope that helps see more you a little!

Orca - 500 error code
Ray - Blank screen (error log reports 500 error code)
Boxnex News on main page just has the squirly circle thing going on.
