No gaps between paragraphs. Why?

Profesize posted 4th of September 2008 in Community Voice. 6 comments.

I have noticed that when writing up an event or a blog that when you hit return to create a gap between paragraphs then hit submit, the gaps seem to disappear when looking at the actual text in the site.

Why is this so?

There doesn't even seem to be the option to click on HTML like in the forum so you can't even enter a line break.

I repeat..........why is this so?

:)

I don't know why this is so. If you are referring to an actual dolphin site with the latest version last time I checked I did have the "html" option to click on an enter html code for blogs. I didn't check events.

I often find if I use one browser it will do one thing and another does something else with the line breaks. Usually, which is kind of a pain to get line breaks. I type what I want to say in notepad then copy it and paste it with firefox web browser for forums and such, then see more the line breaks work. I do not use ie7 so I couldn't say how the line break works with it.

The blogs here where I am writing this line breaks seem to work directly by writing in this post a comment section.

Possible this is problem just of Tiny editor :(
we don`t cut any information that receive from this field
Just now I perform some tests at dolphin blogs section

click enter in Tiny, it become as
<p>&nbsp;</p>

click save, after click edit again, look HTML code in Tiny
<p></p>

hehe, ok, click save again,
after click edit post again, and as result I see next
<p>&nbsp;</p>
again .. strange Tiny ...

During tests I disable all processing of see more requested params .. so you can try to perform tests too and share with results.

the Unity forum editor is what needs to be fixed, that keeps turning invisible or back to an old basic editor or no editor at all , its a hit and miss if you are going to post or not,

Thanks for the tip on this one gameutopia!

I seems I have gotten in the habit of using shift-enter (twice for paragraph) for linespacing which IMHO is more stable than having the whole friggin page jumping around with just enter but is still NOT a fix-all ..... grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr .....

Perhaps this might help to save some hair ..... LOL .....

Also irritating is when you click you add a link and it has to RESIZE the friggin browser ..... grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr .....

I absolutely go frizzukies when my browser size is f*cked see more with!!! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr .....

Don't f*ck with my browser size!!! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr .....

Thank you for your replies peeps!

And RumpyBumpy......I promise I will never f*ck with your browser size...lol!

The html coding for a space seems to disappear, probably due to the safehtml.php thingy-ma-jiggy. Tried to edit it but had no luck.

What do you lot think it could be?

<p>&nbsp;</p> becomes <p></p>.

If I use the html editor in admin it works if I enter a <br/> or if I hit enter twice, but as a regular user hitting enter twice doesn't work see more and their is no html button to click on.....not that most regular users would know how to edit their html.

Why is it so?
