Since 2003 - the year of creation of myspace.com - internet communities' concept has never been the same. It was dating communities like match.com that were very popular in those days. Every fifth community appearing on the web tried to compete, or dreamed to compete, with match.com. All community software made sure that the dating concept was a vital part of them. But myspace.com changed the minds of online entrepreneurs and offered a new dream.
Eric is a webmaster from the South of France with 10 years experience. He is flash applications specialist. He always wanted to create a big site, big site like myspace.com
"I was a webmaster for more than 10 years, and I always wanted to do a big website like Myspace, but I do not have much time to spend to develop a new product," explains Eric.
In 2007 Eric decided to start Tchatche-webcam.net - a community for friends with free video chat in French. Initially the community was based on dating software and Flashchat, which he liked, due to his specialization in flash. However, after testing these applications from two different providers he decided to use Dolphin and Ray for his idea.
"I have chosen Dolphin because this application has everything I want, such as video streaming, photos sharing, mp3 player, blogs, etc," says Eric.
These features helped him to start his community quickly enough. The only big change he made to the default version was a Google SEO coding pack, which he bought at Expertzzz.com. He also installed the nickname as sub domain mod and guest chat option. Chat, mp3 player and video streaming are powered by the Ray flash application, which is another product from BoonEx.
Currently, the site has over 6600 members, 6000 of which joined last year.
"I hired help with installing Site Donations, Abuse Reports, Custom Template, Membership Icons, Age instead of DOB, and I've hired some help configuring the site with Paypal and solving some bugs with the site," comments Justin.
"My site has 6000 new registrations in one year and about 30 per day," claims Eric.
To keep up such a good pace, Eric also decided to provide an English version of the site. With software solid enough in functioning, there is spare time for planning his business idea. Based on the first year success, Eric wants his project to grow even faster.
"I would like to increase my web traffic to more than 5000 users/day. A few days ago I began to change my project and turn my website into something similar to Myspace and hope to have more traffic with mp3 and video player. I think I will install the mod for "chat in groups" and maybe think about selling mp3 for artist's benefit only, not for me. I would like to do revenue sharing," plans Eric.
I am the only member of my team for this project. I am actually a specialist in flash app and webmaster. I am 33 years old and live in the South of France.
I was webmaster for more than 10 years, and I always wanted to do a big website like Myspace, but I do not have much time to spend to develop a new product.
I began this website in 2007 September. At that moment I used Flashchat and OSdate software for my project. I really loved the source code that I paid for. But in 2008 I discovered dolphin products and decided to switch to them. I then installed code optimization for Google SEO.
My site has 6000 new registrations in one year and about 30 per day.
Because this application has all that I want ;-) such as video streaming, photos sharing, mp3 player, blogs and etc.
Optimization code for SEO (pages name + metas description + Rewriting) and Mods installation: guest chat and users nickname as a sub domain.
