talkaboutourtown posted 2nd of May 2008 in Community Voice. 14 comments.
I recently installed Dolphin on my test server and noticed that my links to classifieds and blogs are pointing to directories that do not exist. Why is this and how can i correct it?

THey point to
yoursite.com/community/ads
yoursite.com/community/blogs

the files are there but they do not point to them?

HELP!

In fact, it seems like almost my entire nav bar is useless... they all point to directories that do not exist

Hello!

In Dolphin we use this thing:

http://www.google.com/search?hl=ru&sa=X&oi=spell&resnum=0&ct=result&cd=1&q=%22Mod+Rewrite+module%22&spell=1

Also you can see how you can resolve your situation here:

I dont see anything in regards to changing the navbar links on the boonex site. The google.com reference is an incomplete url

Click on every link twice (it will allow you to select whole link's body) and then paste it to browser nav bar.

Goto your builder section in admin panel. and do the following for all your menus in the url space,

../classifieds.php?Browse=1|classifieds.php|classifiedsmy.php

or

/classifieds.php?Browse=1|classifieds.php|classifiedsmy.php

or

classifieds.php?Browse=1|classifieds.php|classifiedsmy.php

if not you have installed the script incorrect.

If i was you then i have lost menus i.e classifieds in the pass i goto the demo they have and look at there links in admin panel to make sure they see more are correct.

If you want to see the demo panel for nav links goto

Username: admin

Password: dolphin

I am in the builder section but when I open links on the homepage it does not allow me to input an URL, only under Navigation Menu and those links appear to be correct.

The demo site has the link as boonex.us/ads leading to an alternate directory

Anybody else? So far I have found no help for this problem

I found a solution in another blog.

Uncheck all permalinks,
Open up a navpage builder. save any block

rebuilds the menus. worked for me.

This sounds like the same problems you folks were having. I have looked at your advice but need a little more specific guidance.

When I log in as a member and I click on the video link on my control panel bar at the top of the page I get file not found and end up at this web address http://mysite.com/video/all/10/1. It should be sending me to http://mysite.com/videos.php but it doesnt.

When I log in as a member and I click on the photo link on my control panel bar at the top of the page I get see more file not found and end up at this web address http://mysite.com/photo/all/10/1. It should be sending me to http://mysite.com/photos.php but it doesnt.

When I log in as a member and I click on the groups link on my control panel bar at the top of the page I get file not found and end up at this web address http://mysite.com/groups/all It should be sending me to http://mysite.com/grp.php but it doesnt.

When I log in as a member and I click on the blogs link on my control panel bar at the top of the page I get file not found and end up at this web address http://mysite.com/blogs It should be sending me to http://mysite.com/blogs.php but it doesnt.

When I log in as a member and I click on the classifieds link on my control panel bar at the top of the page I get file not found and end up at this web address http://mysite.com/ads It should be sending me to http://mysite.com/classifieds.php but it doesnt.

Check your .htaccess file, maybe it is empty.
